i think of food as being petrol, either alot of premium food or a little regular food but not to much petrol or you overflow the tank

I normally eat after I finish excercising but if you had something light that would be ok but not something heavy on your stomach.....you might get stomach cramps

Eat a light breakfast before jogging since you just woke up then eat the other 3/4 after your jog. ^_^

don't eat 2 hrs before and after exercising. You can though grab a fruit or glass of juice after 30-40 mins of exercising.

Some people can eat before exercise, I find it difficult to excercise on a full stomach and don't eat for at least two hours before exercise. First thing in the morning is not the best time of day to exercise as your muscles have not warmed up properly and you will be more prone to injury.
However, I would drink upto a litre of water before exercising and keep your workout light at that time of day. If you want to gain muscle mass, eat an easily digestible protein (such as tuna), within 30 minutes of finishing a work out.

You're probably sick of me or afraid of me.
Anyway.
Eating a little bit before exercising gives your body something to work with and helps out your muscles. Eat something small and light that won't give you stomach cramps, like some (or all) of a powerbar or luna bar. Eating after exercise is also good because your metabolism is burning hot and will not only burn up the food in no time but will also get nutrients to important body systems and muscles that will aid in developing lean muscle and keep your metabolism healthy. Maybe split up a meal and have some before and some after. :)

hi
Our digest system required blood in sufficient quantity. While running blood flow to our legs and so our stomach get short foll of blood and stomach is not able to digest food.So it is not advisable to take food before morning exercising.

If you are trying to lose weight, I recommend not eating before your morning cardio, if you do make it protien, no carbs. If your body has carbs in it, it will burn that as fuel - if your main tank is empty (your stomach), the more likely you will burn some of the reserves (fat stores). However, if you aren't worried about losing fat - then whatever makes you enjoy it more. Post workout, a good meal of protien and complex carbs. But do drink plenty of water, before and after.

You want to eat before and after exercise unless you want to burn muscle as fuel.
Of course the portion and types of foods are goal specific.
You still want a fast acting carb and fast digesting protein pre and post workout even for cardio.
