Hello there! There are a number of things you can do to speed up your metabolism! First off--as a warning...NEVER starve yourself!! I learned that the hard way...I've learned quite a bit over my years of research what helps speed up the metabolism...so I'll try to provide as much info as I can...But also there is a great article that provides many of tips for speeding up the metabolism....A combo of these tips, plus some of what I've learned, I'll provide for you below:
--Eat several smaller mini meals a day to sustain insulin levels, which in turn speeds up the metabolism..
-- Don't skip breakfast! Eating something in the morning will jump-start your metabolism!
-- Change what you eat...Stay away from simple sugars/bad carbs...For example: Instead of eating white bread, white rice, and white pastas...Opt for whole grain, or whole wheat bread, rice, and pastas...These types will not slow down your metabolism like the starchy type carbs will...
-- WORK OUT!! Increase your cardio to about one hour a day, daily...ALSO try weight training or strength training! Lifting weights (strength training) will DEFINITELY speed up your metabolic rate!! Strength training doesn't necessarily mean having to lift weights (if you don't like weight lifting)...You can do other types of exercises to build up your strength...It is suggested in order to speed up your metabolism to a higher rate...you should focus on exercising the larger muscles of the body...One being the quads, or thigh muscles...A great exercise for the thighs are LUNGES...You can view this exercise here: http://exercise.about.com/od/lowerbodywo...
You'll see this exercise using dumbells...You can do this exercise with or without the weights...However to intensify calorie burning...you should try the weights...Recommended is three to five pound dumbells...
--Try to eat LOTS of lean protein...Especially eat some protein after a workout...This will make sure you don't have a dip in your energy levels, which may affect your metabolism...
--Drink lots of water!! Water will keep you hydrated, and is waaayyyy underestimated even by some bodybuilders on the importance of keeping well-hydrated by drinking before, during, and after a workout session...Drink about 8 glasses a day of water..
--Get rest! About 8 hours a night..You will slow down your energy levels, and slow down your metabolism by depriving your body of much-needed rest!

I switch up my diet every two weeks. For too weeks I calorie count and then for two weeks I do Lean Meats, One potato a day, all veggies and fruits. I have been doing this for 6 weeks and lost 11.2 pounds!

There are a few ways you can boost your metabolism without taking pills. The first is to eat something small every 3 hours. This keeps your body burning calories and stretches it out over the day. The second is consistent exercise. Cardio is important, bur resistance training is extremely helpful in raising your metabolism.

People with a higher metabolism burn more calories and more fat, even when they aren't doing anything, so yes, you could lose more weight by boosting your metabolism.

EXERCISE REGULARLY CHANGE YOUR ROUTINE EVERY THREE WEEKS SO YOUR BODY DOESN'T GET USE TO IT.ALSO FUEL IT WILL HEALTHY FOOD.
