Why aren't I hungry?!

Question: Lately I am never hungry around the normal times (morning, noon, night). I can even all day without eating and without even remotely feeling hungry.

I don't know why. I don't have an eating disorder because I don't have a problem with my weight. I actually want to gain weight but I'm just never hungry.

Any ideas as to why this is?

I get the same problem. But do you have a lack of appetite with your lack of hunger? Lack of hunger means you don't feel hungry, while a lack of appetite means you don't want to eat and may even experience adverse symptoms if you do eat.

Certain drugs, stress, depression, vitamin deficiencies, bowel obstructions, malabsorption, cancer, and other diseases can contribute to you not being hungry. Your metabolism might be slowing down, so you could try exercising. Or it could just be the time of the year, when your body slows down to conserve energy for a season where it instinctually "knows" there is a lack of food though it is painfully obvious to the modern person there is no lack of food in most modern countries.

But can you eat? If you sat down with a plate of food and told yourself to eat the entire thing, could you do it? Or would you be unable to take a bite? Would you be able to get through part of it, and then suddenly feel full? If you can't answer these questions now, sit down to a meal and find out.

Try exercising and doing relaxing activities. Eat things you like and, if you have to, eat smaller portions. Like I said, I have this problem, too, and it comes and goes. I've gone as long as a week without feeling hungry and lacking an appetite on top of that. This is an issue for me, since I'm underweight. If you're underweight, you need to watch it.

If your symptoms don't improve in 5-7 days, you should see your doctor, since not feeling hungry can signal another problem in your body.

Good luck!

im like that. its not an eating disorder but people will think you have one if you do what i did (eatingf when you feel you need to) because people are stupid. only eat when your hungery, thats the only time yo need to.

Do you find yourself generally not being around food? If this is the case, it could be part of the reason. See, our digestive system begins working the second we smell food...we will begin salvating and everything. It triggers hunger.

Also, if you aren't very active, you may not need so many calories because you aren't burning any.

You really need to make time to eat. Eat good high protein foods like chicken to fill you up. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water as well.

Time of the year, your meant to be hibernating. If your not feeling hungry maybe you should have a few snacks and just eat a little any way.

Well, if your in the heat all the time, that's one reason y ur not hungry. when you're in the heat, all you think about is water and not food.

Reasons for NOT feeling hungry:
Is there a possibility that you might be pregnant?
Are you depressed?
You might lack vitamins.
Thyroid problem?
Low stomach acid level.

I feel exactly the opposite!!!I'm hungry all the time!!!wanna switch places?LOL

Same. Maybe depend on your activity level, whether your metabolism is high or low. When I'm not feeling hungry, I just drink soup, any kind with noodles, meat, etc to keep my energy up. Try soup?
