What's it feel like to be on an Atkin's diet?!

Question: I hear it puts the body into "starvation" mode, and makes it burn fat for energy, rather than the usual carbs. Does it painful? Does it drive one insane?

Headaches, dizzyness, tiredness are all side affects of eating no carbs. Not good for you. Its even worse if you like sweet tasting things because you get the withdrawal symptons.

It really depends on the individual. Some people find it works really well and they lose a lot of weight quickly when nothing else works. Some people find it useless and troublesome.

My personal experience was that it wasn't really painful, but it ruined the enjoyment of eating. I did lose weight, but it was just so restrictive that I no longer enjoyed eating anything or meals or anything to do with food. Didn't make me insane or anything, but if you're one of those people who loves to eat out and enjoys meals as a social occasion, it may not work for you. If you stick to it religiously, you'll find it basically impossible to eat out anywhere - it's a total lifestyle change.

You feel like a dumbass cuz you starved yourself and your still not losing weight. I recommend the body for life diet. it is controlled portions of certain foods and exercise. buy the book, i did. its hard work but it works.

Atkin's diet is one weight loss system I have had tried months back.

Only one word to describe the feeling : " miserable"....

Somemore, due to the low calories intake which is demanded by the Atkin's system, I am feeling very low on energy daily.

Which I really do not like...

Trust me...it is really miserable to go on a Low Fat, Low Calorie, Low Carb diet.........you basically do not have much energy left to do other things....not worth it.

Furthermore, I do reduce some weight but considering the sacrifice I put it...it's really not consider a lot....

And most importantly, I don't think anyone can sustain that kind of diet for long.....

I have thus switched to another system which do not need me to diet or pop slimming pills at all.

It literally helps me reduce my weight from 88kgs down to just 68kgs - in less than 3 months.
