Okay, this is going to be a very long, long, long answer but it's probably going to be the one that will help you the most:

The key to losing weight is to lose it steadily throught diet and exercise. You should lose only 1-1.5 lbs per week, which means you will have to burn around 3500 calories per week (3500 cals equal 1 pound). 3500 cals sound like a whole lot, but divide that by 7 (7 days per week make it convinient, huh?) and you should burn 500 cals a day. Now, that souns like a nifty amount but here is what goes on:

You body has a BMR (How much your body burns in an average day). You can find out your BMR online. Just Google BMR Calculator Free and a list of sites will pop up. Just enter the info for questions they ask and you'll get your BMR. Pretend that your BMR is 2000. Then you should take 500 away from that and consume only that much calories (For example, here it would be only 1500 calories). If that seems like too much, cut out 300 cals and exercise off 200 calories. Does that make sense? The end line is that you should always make your caloric intake be 500 less than your BMR. How you get rid of that 500 cal is up to you.

Eating:
Keep count of all the calories you consume (www.calorie-count.com will give you the calorie for every food you can ever think of).

There are 3 major parts of your life: protein, fat, and carbs. It's going to get too long to list out of here, but here's my site where I talk all about it: http://www.advicenators.com/talkaboutmet...

Use that to determine how much of what food you should consume.

When you cook, try and eat food as much as you can that are in their natural state. What I mean by that is boil it or bake it. Don't fry it or don't deep fry it with oil. If you HAVE to use oil, use Olive Oil. Don't smother it in sauce or anything. Put it on the side.

Exercise is good for you and makes you healthy and helps you get those A's in gym. Try and walk/jog/run 3 times a day, if not 5 or 7. Start off slow if you're going to jog or run or you'll seriously regret it the next morning. Stretch and warm up very well, too.

E.g: Betty Crocker decides that she's going to start running out of the blues. She does her stretches, not much warm up, and starts off jogging quickly on her first day. She runs about half a mile and she's completely out of breath and breathing like wheezing donkey. She starts to walk, comes home, and feel "accomplished". The next day, she can barely walk because her legs and thighs are so freakishly sore. This continues for a week and puts a complete halt to her exercising.

Get my point? Start with stretches and warm ups. Don't go fast, start slow and GRADUALLY increase your speed over a LONG period of time. Along with that, do some toning exercises 3 to 5 to 7 times a week. Which ever you prefer. If you want to see how much calories you burned, go to this nifty site [once more] and search for the calories you've burned by picking an activity.[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) Site

Weighing yourself:
When should you weigh yourself? How often?
You should weigh yourself ONCE a week. Preferably at the same day every week [e.g weigh yourself every Monday or every Tuesday, etc] Weigh yourself in the morning right after you wake up and before you consume any food or drinks. [Weighing yourself at this time of the day is the most accurate, seeing that food and drinks can increase your normal weight by 5-10lbs!].

Run through:
Eat 500 less than your BMR
Eat & drink healthy foods only.
Limit/Cut out junk food, sugars, and sweets.
Make exercising a habit and routine, even if it's only 10min. Every bit counts.
Weigh yourself only once a week on the same day of the week in the morning.
Set realistic goals!

Trouble shooting:
I don't know what exercises to do...
*I'm nice enough to have included a list of exercises in another topic. Go look.

I'm not losing anymore weight!!!
*Your BMR might have changed. Calculate it again with your current status and continue from there.

I don't want to lose anymore weight!!!
*Didn't you read Bobby Pie's example? Eat the same amount of calories as your BMR.

I gained back all the weight!
*Did you pig out? Did you cheat? Did you stop exercising? GET BACK ON TRACK.

I don't want to lose any weight!
*Why the hell did you even read this?

I think I basically got the key points from my site on here...

P90X for exercise routine, Independent Achievement Productions for losing weight... they are the best.

treadmill will work a grt deal....

Starve yourself for 12 days. It's fast, and effective.

Get a small plate, smaller than your normal dinner plate. Don't eat anything larger than that. And only one plateful at a time, no refills,no snacks.

As for your diet, i understand its difficult to cut back all those unhealthy foods that most of us crave. Try eating less at each sitting and maybe just having an extra sitting. It speeds up your metabolism and helps you burn off the extra calories from whatever you might have eaten that, lets just say, wasn't the healthiest choice. From there, a well rounded work out program is needed, but the easiest to regulate on your own would be your cardio workout. Run everyday or every other day and little by little you'll be able to run longer distances and burn more calories.

well the best way for you to lose weight is to get up at 7 in the morning exercise do about 30 min of exercise. then go eat a fruit.. if you ever get hungry for a snack don't eat candy eat fruits... and salad.. you will defenetly lose some weight..
hope i held and good luck.

YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE! You need to do cardio to burn the fat. You have to exercise to burn more calories than you are ingesting. Make sure you do cardio at least 3-5 days a week for at least 30 minutes to start. Start slow, but do not stay at the same level throughout your workout. I believe in interval training, e.g., change the speed, resistance, and/or incline every 2-3 minutes. You have to actually work and get your heart rate up during those 2-3 minutes of slow and fast movements. You also have to eat right by limiting your fat, sodium (IT RETAINS WATER), sugar (TURNS TO FAT), and your refined carbs. Read or check out "YOU! On a diet," by Dr.'s Oz and Roizen it explains everything on how you should eat honestly. I say that because it coincides with so many other nutrition books I've read and it's amusing too.

Good luck!

p.s. READ THE INGREDIENT LABEL AND AVOID THE FOLLOWING: HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, HYDROGENATED/PARTIALLY HYDROGENTAED OILS, CORN STARCH, AND ANY OTHER CRAP THAT'S NOT GOOD FOR YOU.

PAY ATTN TO SERVING SIZES AND PORTION CONTROL
DRINK AT LEAST 8 CUPS OF WATER , EAT FRUITS AND VEGGIES, AND COOK HEALTHY TOO AND DO AN ONLINE SEARCH FOR HEALTHY COOKING

The best way is skipping, trust me! Just buy a skipping rope and you can skip infront of the tv! It keeps you fit and you don't have to leave your location! And if you are watching a funny tv show, you forget that you are skipping and you get fit without knowing! Best way to eat is cut out the junk, drink LOTS of water, and have smaller portions 5 or 6 times a day!

DO NOT starve urself its really unhealthy. eat healthy food plenty whole grains, of fruits and veg, dairy foods and meat but not to much. exercise at least 30 minutes a day and oh yeah drink plenty of water.its much better than starving urself if u did u could get malnutrition or whatever its called.

Well, the first thing that you must do is plan to not give up. It needs to be a life change that you make. Forget the quick fixes, and the pills. Good old fashioned dieting is the key. Intense cardio4-5 days a week is what you'll need because that is one of the MAIN ways to drop weight. Cycling classes are highly effective. Step aerobics too. Good ol fashioned running or swimming are all good cardio. If you do not want to sag after weight loss, then you need to incorporate circuit weight training as well 3 days a week. Don't forget to stretch before and after a workout. Drink a glass of water before and after each meal. That will curb hunger. Eat a salad with every dinner. Try to eat a fruit and a vegetable with every meal. Replace chips or snacks with a piece of fruit. Exchange white rice and bread for whole grain. These are just some tips that might help. Good luck

Tape a piece of paper over the numbers on your scale, and write down your goal weight. You shouldn't take it off until you know in your heart that you've reached it. Start feeling the excitement of being your goal weight now. The answers will come to you. I stepped on the scale everyday with the tape on it, and just told myself how great I felt now that I'm skinny.

It's a little strange.
But I just lost 35 pounds doing it.

But my gosh did you get skinny! You look great!
Good luck!
