I want to help my mom lose weight.?!

Question: My mom is in her mid 40s. She always complains about wanting to lose weight, but she never has time. She is also very stressed out [and I know that's partly my fault, because I never help around the house.]
First off, I know I must help a lot around the house. I will, I want her to feel less stressed and have more time for herself.
But my question is, how can I help motivate her to lose weight, I want to help her but I'm not sure how. I don't know what exactly she should eat or when/how she should exersize. Any suggestions?

Offer to take walks with her, it will give you guys a chance to bond and talk with each other. Also you could research healthy eating habits and begin cooking together. I miss being at home and finding new fun hnealthy recipes with my mom.

Healthy eating is pretty easy (its the willpower part that is hard). always go woth lean meats, fresh veggies, fruit and whole grains and low fat diary. A portion size is about the size of the palm of your hand.

Water is a great way to shave off a few pounds, drinking water reduces water retention and bloating AND when you are actually burning stored fat it helps the body get rid of the by products produced from burning the fat.

Good Luck

buy exercise DVDs and say you can do them together, take jogs together, take an aerobics or kick boxing class together, get a gym membership together, suggest healthy meals. pretty much exercise together. you'll both be healthier, exercise relieves stress and its good mother/daughter bonding.

both of you join a gym, then start buying low fat food such as cheeses, milk, trim all fat off your meats, make more salads and use low fat dressings....make small changes and watch the pounds disappear.....always have a big breakfast, a medium lunch and a light supper with more veggies then meat, make water your drink and get moving! good luck

I like sway_21's answer. Pick her for best answer! And do what she said! Happy holidays! :)

if you keep her from stressing out she might start losing wait researchers say some people lose weight and somepeople gain weight when they are stressed out and your mom is probaly a person that gains weight

Congratulations for your decision to help your mom! You are really good daughter!
My suggestion: go for a walk every day for 1 hour together - not for shopping , but a nice shop can be a target from time to time. Make her feel you as friend. Probably your decision to help her with the house duties is very good step towards make her feel that her child is already good friend of her :-)
Now I will tell you what I repeat to everybody here, who wants to lose weight:
She has to start a diet - start with a diet she will like and she will follow till the end (Winter diet is very good for the beginning). After 2 weeks replace it with another diet. Every 2 weeks change the diets.
Good luck to both of you!
And a Happy New Year!

Hi,

I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it (it's 100% natural). The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.diet-fun-now.us where they have a free trial and you only pay $6.95 shipping and handling.
Good luck!
