Is my weight normal for a girl my age?!


Question: I'm 13 years old since September 9th, 4 feet 11 inches and 149.5 pounds. lean build, tummy fat more when I sit, big thighs but bigger when I'm sitting. Skinny arms no muscle. I never exersise. I eat healthy.

I know you've probably heard this before, but there are more important things than looks. You said you didn't exercise. If you're unhappy with your weight, there is something you can change pretty easily. If you're comfortable with your weight, that's all that matters. You're still growing, so don't worry about it so much, but try and take steps toward a healthy lifestyle. It's easier to stay thin and athletic as an adult if you practiced good habits as a kid.
Your BMI is a little high, but like I said, you're still growing. Don't let your weight push you to extremes. I've made some bad choices regarding weight. Just be healthy and happy!

No, you are very overweight.
My mom is 35 years old and weighs less than you. She is 120 pounds. Which is a normal weight for her height.
I advise you to see a doctor. Child obesity is growing, and you are a part of it.

well you are a little over for your height but your still growing so i think you will grow out of it.

BMI Categories:

Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

you're BMI is 30..In order to have a BMI of 24.2 you'd have to weigh 120lbs.

Actually it is not normal weight for you but there is a hope. You are only 13 and still growing. I wouldn't worry too much however I would be more cautious from now on. My daughter will be 13 too. She involves sports for the last 4 year (volleyball, softball, basketball and soccer) and lost her baby fat. She is also getting taller than 4 years ago too.

If I were you... I would suggest you to stick to your pattern of eating BUT to reduce the amount and absolutely no junk foods. I wish you the best of luck.
