Does stress make you lose weight and what to do about it?!

Question: My job has been really stressful and I have lost a lot of weight while working there. I have worked there a few years but idk, it just seems more stressful than it used to. I was underweight even before this.
The thing is that my boss screams at me. I need my job but idk.
I've tried eating more, but that doesn't seem to be working.
Please help. Thank you.

Stress is a pretty bad thing, even if you're losing weight likely the weight lost isn't a good weight - I'm guessing it's due to not eating regularly?

Stress does several things to the body that's bad: it increases cortisol levels, a catabolic hormone; it increases free radicals in the body, increasing the chances of illness or even maladies like cancer; it induces bad behaviors like lack of sleep, bad eating habits and reduced activity levels; it's been known to increase the chances of hypertension, high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke.

A boss should never scream at you (unless you're in boot camp or something) as this is extremely unprofessional and will only cause a poor work environment. Unfortunately, there are just as many bad bosses out there as good ones and so often bosses think the old-school autocratic style of management is the best and only way to run a workplace. I suggest you start looking for another job while you still have this one, find something better for you and less toxic.

Also, you have to do what you can for your health. Good health should always be a priority for everyone, and this means finding time to eat right and exercise. This may require some creativity and advanced planning on your part but it can be done. Don't be dependent of the workplace for your nutrition (read: vending machines or cafeteria) but bring your own things in, and stay away from the junk food. Often there are few things we can control in life but our health is one of them. Eating well and exercise will actually help combat the bad effects of stress.

Actually, stress causes more weight, as people intend to eat more when stressed. But if you are rapidly losing weight then you might want to see your doctor and see whats going on. Also try to take some snacks with you to work, such as a power bar.

Actually, stress causes weight gain. It seems to me that you have a different problem.
When you make fries, add cheese
When you eat chicken tenders, add another on your plate
Instead of that 8th glass of water, make it a glass of soda
When you go to grab that apple, go get a chocolate bar
But remember to stay fit and healthy! Taking a little walk in the evening should help!

I pick my cuticles until they bleed.

Non drinker, non smoker and that don't do any thing but kill ya.
