I am a personal trainer, so I can answer this. a healthy body fat % for a women is 19 to 25 percent. men are much lower than that. 12 to 18 percent. you can't have any fat on your stomach to be able to see your abs, which is so hard to do, you have to be perfect diet, perfect excercise. when I say diet I don't mean not eating, you have to eat, you just have to eat right, and eat ofter. every three hours, small meals. make sure you do cardio and lift weights, and get enough sleep. also another thing you can do is your waist measurment. measure your waist from your belly button all the way around as even as you can get. a healthy waist size is your height converted in to inches, then divided in half. so for instance if you are 5 '3 then that into inches would be 63 inches, then you would cut that in half which would be 31 inches. that is a healthy waist size, however that is healthy for not being at risk for cardiovascular disease, you can be 3 to 4 inches smaller and you'd look great, but don't go too small. a little tiny fat is a lot sexier then a boney unhealthly body. any guy would agree too. men like healthy curves. not fat ones, but healthy ones. they don't need bones, and if they do, they are sick.

for anyone really abs start forming <15% body fat and <10% is when you get those real outlined abs

For women, below 13% body fat. It is much harder for women to obtain a six pack than it is for men.

my body fat is 25% and i have a 4 pack. i'm a women too

15%-17% body fat for a female to see abs. Although it will vary from female to female. Don't go below 12%-15% body fat as this can cause health problems.
