If you're health conscious you want to stay away from any cereal with "Puff" or "Frosted" in its name. Special K is okay, but there are a few much better choices. Especially when they start adding those dehydrated berries to them - those are actually not that good for you and add tons of sugar (it's better to just add fresh berries if you want them). There is a list of best cereals, I believe in Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet book or maybe somewhere on her website. www.toscareno.com

You will also want to add some protein for your breakfast. If you don't want to add some form of meat, you can put a tablespoon of peanut butter on your toast. I sometimes have a whole-grain frozen waffle with peanut butter on it (no syrup) with milk and 1/2 banana or other fruit for breakfast.

But oatmeal is your best bet for breakfast. Just buy regular oatmeal - you don't need "instant". Boil some water - I steam mine in my tea pitcher - and pour it in a bowl with the oatmeal. Wait a minute or two and it cooks itself. :)

I would say that it's not that bad as long as you eat healthier for the rest of your meals.

It isn't healthy but it isn't terrible. There's worse things you could eat. A serving size (3/4 cup) has 120 calories, 12 g sugar and very little fiber and protein. So they're basically empty calories. A bowl of it with milk would still be under 200 calories so from a strictly caloric intake/weight loss standpoint it's ok. But it certainly isn't healthy. In fact, most varieties of Special K are about the same as Reese's Puffs nutritionally, with the exception of the protein plus which has quite a bit of protein as well as fiber.

The sugar in it is bad, and it has less fiber

Yes it is with all the sugar and color in it.
Stick with the Special K cereal like i do :)

Good luck:

avoid having it everyday. i was fine until i did that. then i wound up having it twice a day. then i gained weight. so, 1 bowl w/milk with fruit would be good a couple times a week. variety is best anyway. change up your breakfasts.

It's not the healthiest choice cereal wise but it also isn't the worse. You might as well eat the Reese Puffs cereal if you're eating special K..there's not much difference.

R u joking you are eating a cereal that is named after a candy. The candy has 190 calories and 9 grams of fat per package so just imagine the breakfast cereal . Wake up health concious girl !
