Answers: how long would it take to lose 20 pounds if i do this. im 145 right now. should i go lower?

i was 145 and lost 20 pounds as well.

I went on the nutrisystem diet which i was eating around 800 calories a day-with no exercise.

I lost the 12 pounds in 2 weeks and then the other 8 in about another 2 weeks. The weight came off really fast once i stopped eating sweets and pop.

Seriously if you drink a ton of water and the 600 calories a day you can lose the weight under a month-faster if you exercise.

how tall r u? and 600 is way to low. 1000 is just fine

it's not the way to go... u'll gain it right back sweetie

depends on your age and height

amputation would be quicker

That is not enough. You body will go into starvation mode and it will take forever for you to lose the weight!!!!!

How tall are you? And hell no! That's not healthy. Unless you are 4'. There is no reason you can't drop some more weight with a healthier lifestyle.

Depends on your height and even your muscle mass.

no I dont think that is a safe diet

WAY too low!
You`ll put your body in to starvation mode and will not lose fat, you`ll lose muscle too.
1200 calories is the healthist lowest out there.
And 20 lbs should take you 4-5 months at the weight you are.

1. It depends on your height, if 145 is enough.

2. 600 calories is too low. It will change your metabolism, and your body will process the calories more efficiently as it goes into starvation mode. 600 calories is okay for every 3rd day, but not every day.

600 is not healthy, you should start with a 1200 calorie diet.

I just saw a show this morning and a girl did a 500 cal diet. She lost her hair and is now very sick from the diet.

Don't do it! Do a 1200 cal diet to start! Exercise and water, water, water!

Your body will go into starvation mode and you will actually end up gaining more weight than you lost once you eat normally again. 145 is a great weight for someone about 5'6"-5'10".

Hun just eat 1200 calories of healthy food and exercise more!

How tall are you? Are you muscular? Muscle weighs more than fat. A 600 calorie diet is not healthy.

600 calories a day is not enough ...your body will starve and go on "emergency state: and start saving fat cause you are not giving it enough fuel. Try going to sparkpeople.com
It's free and you get a profile and they advise on the correct diet for you and the pace you should lose the weight at. Good Luck.

You'll be passing out within a week on 600 calories a day. This is dangerous. Do not do it.

that's practically starving yourself. to answer your question, if you exercise (assuming you don't pass out on that low amount) you could lose 20 lbs in as little as 1 1/2 months, but it would be TOTALLY UNHEALTHY!!! stick to a 1500 calorie diet and exercise. drink lots of water. it may take longer to lose weight, but it won't come rushing back afterwards and it'll be safer and easier on your body. good luck

girly, if you're 5'5", you're hott! you don't need to lose ANY weight!

well im eating about 1000 at the mo and ive been doing it for 2 weeks and ive lost about 9 pounds so i reckon it will take you about 3 and a half weeks.

Are you trying to starve yourself? You can't go on 600 calories a day. Try eating the right foods and in small portions. Exercise more. Even walking can help you loose weight. Good luck and becareful.
Happy New Year!

First off thats not healthy. Your going to end up quiting and eating more then you would have in the first place because your body will be craving the calories it needs to run on a day to day a basis. Eat 1500 cals a day and exercise and you can lose that 20 pounds in a month if you work at it.

My understanding is that if you starve yourself, ie. eating 600 calories/day, your body starts to store and it becomes difficult to lose weight. You are probably better off doing vigorous exercise on a daily basis and eating at least 1500 calories.

Ouch!! you will do better with eating five to six light meals daily and bumping up the workout. This boosts metabolism and the weight will drop off like crazy. 600 calories will only confuse the system, and make your body think its starving. Bad for the hair, skin and mental stability.

Trust me, going on a 600 calorie diet is not the best choice. It's REALLY unhealthy and you could get dehydration or fatigue.

If you want to lose weight, i recommend eating at least 14 grams of fiber each day. Drink lots of water and drink 20 minutes after eating your meals (it helps to digest faster)

If you do this and try eating healthy, you could lose two to three pounds a week

hope it helps ^^

What's with you people? Everyone these days GOSH! Dieting, taking pills, liposuction, etc. If you think you are fat then you ARE. If you think you aren't, then you AREN"T. You are what you think you are and if you have low self esteem and want to go on a 600 calorie diet which is about 1400 calories below the average for an American woman, then go right ahead. Just be yourself and be happy.

u will lose nothing!!!! ur body will go into starvation mode and will hold onto everything it can get! eat no less then 1400-1500 calories if u want to lose weight and u should never starve urself or feel hungry...

that is called anorexia and only a dumbass would eat so little like that to lose weight...just eat healthy and exercise but dont overdo it...

OMG!! 600 calories is WAY too low! Never go lower than 1000 and in my opinion that is too low. Your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will go even slower.

There are plenty of websites out there that can give you good diet advice. Or your doctor can give you specifics.

u should get like 1,500 calories any way

600 is Way to low, eat normal and exercise, not diet, just eat healthier cuz the weight will come back on when u eat normal after u lose the 20

I wouldn't recommend it. I've done that before and I always end up binging after 3 or 4 days of it =/ Try going between 800-1200 each day. I know some people are going to say "800 is still waaay too low" but it's really not that bad if you're eating a lot of low calorie foods like fruit, fat-free yogurt, vegetables, granola bars, ect.

Google the web and find a site that tells you how many calories it takes to maintain the weight you are now. Once you do that, you can figure out if you eat 2000 cals a day to maintain what you have now, than cut that in 1/2 to 1000 and you will lose.

DO NOT go under 1000 calories, that is bad for you. You could lose your hair, teeth and eventually your life.

Good luck!
