More flexable for yoga?!

Question: I'm doing a yoga class in Jan. And I wanted to know if you have to be REALLY flex-able to be able to do yoga. Does anyone know of any stretches I can do so that it will make yoga easier? Or do you think I'm fine?

PS. I also play tennis. (If your wondering) I've been playing for over a year now. (so do you think I'm pretty flex-able and I don't need to do any stretches?)

PLEZ HELP!!!

(and be honest)

THANKS!!!!

you will be just fine. i was 243lbs when i attended my first yoga class at ballys. before the class started, i saw the instructor and asked if a person my size could do yoga, and she said YES! i sweated more in that yoga class that day than i ever did walking on the treadmill for 1 hour! i was so sore the next day in my abs, shoulders, arms, and butt. the instructor asked how i liked the class, and i told her i felt like i just had a full body massage. it was awesome! so if i could do it, so can you. yoga is all about breathing, clearing your mind, and stretching at your comfort level. all the skinny girls were bending, twisting and touching the floor, but i did what my body allowed me to do. i've lost 48 lbs and have 25 more to go. now i can bend, twist, and touch the floor in certain positions with the skinny girls :-) i still use the block for support though. I LOVE YOGA ! have fun

Of course you need to stretch before you do any kind of work out, but one of the main benefits of yoga is to improve your flexibility, so you don't need to be flexible before you start doing it.

your fine
