New year resolution?!

Question: i hav been anerexic for like sometime now and now im tryin to recover from it. im 4 ft 11 and weigh 80 lb if i dont eat or drink anythin for a day. ok so i dont want to gain up to 90 lb, my parents fussed at me a lot when i was at that weight, but i wouldnt mind gainnin up to 83-85lb, but I want it to b a healthy way and an eatin style i can cope with for the rest of my life. so im basically asking for any advice on what i could do to reach my goal, im really afraid of having a big belly (well basically if it goes over 24 inch then im freakin out) but i dont mind if i gain some fat in the butt or breast at all.

so my main questions r:
1. how many calories should i consume
2. what should i do to keep my cravings from goin out of hand
3. what should i do when i consume more than i should and im feeling gulity
4. what can i do to speed my metabolism (i currenty take more than 12hrs to digest food)
5. what should my lunch and dinner consist of (food and drink wise)
thanks

I used to be anorexic...by the way you spelled it wrong. I feel sorry for you, that you have to deal with this. I am very proud you are trying to recover. Though 90 lbs. is not an ideal weight, it is better than 80.

1. Intake the normal 2,000 calories. DON'T think this is outrageous. If you choose healthy things for you, you will not be obese...or have a protruding belly. Ever. Now, fruits, vegetables, dairy, and yes, even protein and carbs. You must eat them all.....in proportion.
2. I'm not sure what cravings you have. I would do something you like. I used to write in a journal. Actually, I still do. If you like to read, draw, play a game, watch your favorite movie, etc. (anything that makes you happy), it will greatly help you avoid it. Oh yeah, and as impossible as it may seem, try not to think about food to much.
3. Do not regurgitate anything you consume. You will only develop bulimia...and bad teeth. Instead, do all the things I said above. Most of all, do not punish yourself. Don't say "Well, I just won't eat the next day" because the day after that you will just eat everything you find.
4. In order for you to have a fast metabolism you must actually eat. This is very ironic...in a way.
5. Lunch. I would have a sandwich (turkey, peanut butter, ham, something light enough you won't punch yourself after you eat it) or hummus. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you buy some with pita chips. Also, eat some fruit and vegetable. Like an apple, orange, grapes, banana....celery, carrots, salad. You will feel good about yourself.
Dinner. This is always a difficult process. For I'm sure you don't like eating whatever your parents cook for you. I would try talking to them. If they are the parents who put fried chicken and fries on the table every night, try compromising with them. Suggest cooking healthier things so it will be easier for you to get better. Most likely, if they want you to recooperate, which I'm sure they do, they will give in to some degree.

Good luck. I hope you can get over it.

Oh some advice. You never fully get over it. It will always be in the back of your mind. Sometimes, you might even want to go back to it. You have to make yourself fight it, in order to live and be happy.

i understand where you're coming from.

1. add on 100 calories every other day or every two days or every week, whatever pace is comfortable with you. this will add a safe amount of weight on to you without bloating your stomach.

2. when you feel like your cravings are going out of hand, just go out of the room and splash cold water onto your face. remind yourself that if you eat alot of food (binge) then you will just go back into oh-my-god-i-can't-eat-aah! (i've done that so many times!) and you will be worse into your anorexia.

3. just tell yourself that you deserve this. say to yourself, "i deserve this, i deserve this, i'm beautiful, i'm beautiful". remember, food is energy for the body- we need it to live.

4. you could take Metabolife but i don't like really giving out pills to solve problems. once you start eating at a regular amount of calories (anywhere between 1,000-1,500 calories. don't worry, you don't have to get this high until you build up to it) your metabolism will stabilize. also, do some cardiovascular exercises (walking, jogging, etc.) they will speed up your metabolism.

5. they should consist of things that are higher in fat than you are used to (you do need to gain weight) but still good in fiber and protein, to rebuild the muscles you lost to anorexia. drink a lot of cold water.

good luck!
