I lost 50 lbs over the course of a year.
The most important tool I used was my food diary. It sounds silly, but it really does help. You have to write down everything you eat and the calories. If you need help with calorie content, visit www.caloriesperhour.com
I also exercised a lot, kept my portion sizes small. I didn't deprive myself of all treats, but I made sure to just have a little. I also tend to keep any chocolate or other treats in my freezer, so I can't just grab them on impulse.
Drink lots of water, eat plenty of protein.

A year ago this time I was 210 pounds. This past year I decided to get motivated and start eating healthy and exercising. I now weigh 125 pounds and I feel so much better about myself.

I lost 20 lbs in a month... even though I didn't need it. I was getting on a bad track, but I've gotten better now. I've kept my weight the same too (after I lost the 20 lbs I mean).

HUmmmm, YES! i gained about 100 pds this year, i recently ha dto take a cupple rounds of steriods to help with a bad back and reconstucted knee, i gained roughly 30pds with each steriod shot i recived, being that i have a problem with mobilitie my wieght skyrocketed from a healthish 200pds to a unhealthy 320 pds. now that my doctor is going to stop using the steriod to treat me due to the weight gain i showed, i'm slowly loosing everything i gained went from 320 to a even 300 {not that big of a deal but its going down} i'm looking fore ward to a repair surgery on my spine but in order to do that i have to get a lapband surgery, they want me to weigh 180pds to get my spineal surgery so yes to both lotsa gian but aload to loose!
