Tips to lose a little weight? 10 pts.?!

Question: I am about 5'3, 120 pounds. I'm not fat, I have a medium build, but I would just like to lose weight around my stomach. I just want my stomach to be flat so I can feel comfortable wearing a bikini. I don't have a bicycle, and its really hard to run because I live in a townhouse on a big street. Any tips on dieting and exercising is much appreciated, thanks.

First off I am happy to hear somebody who is concerned to get in shape. Did you know the most dangerous area to be "overweight" or "out of shape" is in and around your abdomen? Staying fit in that area lowers your risk for heart disease and so many other horrible things. You could look into the other types of risks, trust me it's scarey!
Drinking plenty of water is great for your whole body, it helps keep you hydrated of coarse and helps digest your food properly. Many people believe water helps you lose/maintain weight. About 1 1/2 yrs ago I started eating baked foods vs fried and drank only water and an occasional cup of coffee and nothing else by order of my Dr's for other health reasons. I dropped 40lbs in about 2wks (I was very ill at the time in the hospital and gained about 10lbs of that back over a few months) but I now feel so healthy and "work out" on one of those large balls,(mine cost $12 and included the hand pump to fill it up with air. There are a lot of different brands but are all about the same. Found mine at wal-mart about 2yrs ago. They are easy to deflate for storage too.) it's so much fun and so easy. Most the time I just put the ball in place of my chair by my computer and sit on it instead and sometimes shift my body from side to side for a great workout while I'm not even noticing it much at the time because I'm distracted with what I'm doing on the computer. Trust me though you will see results fast. You could incorporate something like that into any aspect of your life and It'll work as long as it's something you like to do already! I have a beautiful stomache thats feminine too! This type of excersice helped strengthen my back muscles too which has helped with my past back problems and aches and also helped my posture a lot! I am now 135lbs (5'5") almost 26yrs old and in the best shape and health of my life. I have made my changes habits for life and would never go back to drinking soda and eating fried food.
Hope I was helpful and good luck to you!!!!!

If its you belly giving you trouble...do some sit ups and such.
but heres a little advice ive heard from a lot of guys the perfer a nice stomach then a flat one. they said it shouldnt be hudge...but it being flat isnt good either,
hope i was able to help, happy new year

you dont need to lose weight just tone the muscle you have. try sit-ups and i have a trampoline i use while i watch tv and it seems to have made my stomach flatter. good luck.

No matter what people will tell you, spot reducing does not exist. You can do all the crunches and sit-ups in the world and yes, that will strengthen your muscles, but it won't give you a six pack. You, like many of us, store your "fat" in your abdomen and that may be, for you, the last place the fat will leave. Try beefing up your cardio and maybe the fat will start to come off.

I lost a lot of the weight around my stomach by just cutting out small indulgent snacks like chocolate and in like 2 weeks you could see the difference and I'd only lost a few lbs!
Try doing a certain amount of situps every night too and build up the amount each night (e.g. start at 20 then do 30 the next night) to avoid pulling any muscles :)

I bet you are not really that fat, but if you think you are, then i guess i could help. I lost weight and i don't even know how i did, but maybe i could remember how to. Well, if you're a lover of Mcdonalds, don't eat that. Go to a fitness place. Have you heard of SportXfitness or Xsport and fitness? I forgot what it is called. I think you pay 38 or something dollars. You swim, do yoga, even get a tan! You don't even work out to get a tan, just walk in and tell them. I think. (My mom went there.) If at home, then just workout any way you can. For around your stomach, i have no clue. That is all the ideas that came to me!

to get started no soda drink a gallon of water a day spring or distill no tap water!! or crystal light for your
meals.

Breakfast oatmeal and a fruit or a breakfast bar and water.

Lunch eat a grilled chicken breast vegetables with light oil or margarine and a fruit.

Dinner eat a tuna or chicken salad and a small cut of vegetables and a fruit.

no eating after 7pm !!

do 250 sit-ups in the morning and 250 sit-ups before bed.

Also do leg squats against the wall. 3 sets of 20 will do fine.
Make sure you squat all the way down and come up slowly.
Do this every other day or till you stop hurting .

Try this for 4 weeks and see the difference only if you really want to loose weight.

P.S.
American Whey protein is also good for a replacement meal.
Good taste and goes down smoothly.
Been taking it for 5 yrs now.

Good luck:
