the only thing you should avoid is avocado because of the fat content. eat lots of the other fruits, especially bananas!(just dont have them when they are over-ripe)

Bananas are good for your brain functions, so wouldn't skip on those too much. The only possible problem with them is they contain a lot of sugar, but if you get exercise (required to lose weight) then the benefits will far outweigh anything you'll get from a banana.

Maybe drop things like biscuits and stick to bananas and other fruit instead - much better for you all round.

Actually bananas are good for providing carbs too which give you quick energy so these days they tend to be known as a super-fruit. Not sure if Atkins would approve, but then again he was an overweight slob who made money from trying to kill poeple.....life got him back eventually.

Btw, if you read this in a diet book, throw it away before it does you more harm than good. Fruit is a very good way to stop things like cancer for example so any diet saying avoid it is putting your health at risk.

fundamentally all fruits are good for you cos they are overall low calorie high fibre and high vitamin and mineral.

Avacado
Mango Lassi

You know, I just lost 25 lbs...took me from July to the end of Oct but I did not avoid any fruits or vegetables.
I ate both fruit and veggies that have high fiber because fiber fills you up and is not digestible.
Instead, I tracked all my calories and ate whatever fell into the range of calories I could eat and still lose weight...if you add exercise you can eat more and still lose weight.
I used sparkpeople.com and it's free.
you can track all your food and exercise and watch as the lbs drop.
there are discussion boards there for just about every weight loss topic.
You can use their meal plans or use your own..
it's ALL free and I found it very very helpful..
IF you are serious, check it out

ilk the other guy said, just keep it in moderation.. all fruits contain about the same amount of sugar, bananas and kiwis are a little higher, but most the sugars are fructose, which is not a complete no no in the diet. if you are eating 2-3 pieces of fruit a day in place of cookies or candies then you are still better off. dont nit pick over 1 piece of fruit, make sure the entire diet is sound. and please, dont do a crazy diet that u cannot stick to, it is better to be reasonable and set longer term goals, you will be more likely to succeed if you do

A banana is not bad for you. It takes about 6 bananas to equal the amount of calories in small new york slice of pizza. They are good do not worry about it. Good fruits would be Papaya, Apples, Strawberries, Oranges & Pears. Trust me, they are fine. Eat them in moderation or whenever you feel hungry. They are better than a twinky or brownie.

Remember 20 minutes of Cardio either jogging or using any other Cardio machine. But do not try to hard because it will drain all your energy.

After the cardio, find a place to sit and have water (not an energy drink or anything with calories). Rest for 5 minutes.

Then about 30 minutes of weight training. Do basic weights in the gym. I would say about 3 sets of 6-8 reps. Take it easy and about 2 weeks later you will become a lot stronger

Eat reasonably too. About 2000 calories. Do not let it be less than 1,800. You do not want to be hungry. Instead of meat eat a can of sardines. The one in oil will do. Eat more vegetables with every meal. So it will fill you up quicker. A serving is about your fist. You will love it. Relax before you eat too

I will start dieting again becaue I am overweight. Wish you best of luck. I live in New York so email me and tell me how it goes. I will also update you about my progress.

Since I am diabetic, I look at the number of carbs in ANY food and the GL (glycimic index - good for you despite the carb/sugar content). The lower the carbs, the better for you AND that will help you lose weight (I've lost 45 pounds!). For myself, I eat a lot of apples since they seem to last the longest feeling full for me. Almost every fruit & veggie contain some vitamin/mineral your body needs, for example, you really need the natural potasium in bananas so try for 1/2 or a small one every day. Also, you can easily search the web for charts on the number of carbs and the GL in most anything - just try 'carbohydrates' or 'carbohydrate chart' in the search box..

Never skip breakfast eat cereal: Go for a low-calorie muesli (no added sugar or salt) or a high fibre cereal - such as Weetabix or Shredded Wheat with semi skimmed or skimmed milk. Add some fresh fruit - a sliced banana or dried apricots - to add natural sweetness and help you resist the sugar. (They also count towards your daily fruit and vegetable quota). Or a fresh fruit salad will provide a slow release of energy to get you through until lunchtime and also give you a healthy top up of vitamins and minerals. This healthy choice will motivate you to make healthy choices throughout the day. Peel and slice a few of your favourite fruits, top with a dollop of natural bio-yoghurt and enjoy with a slice of bread and honey. Alternatively, if you've got a blender, pop the peeled and cored fruit in with the yoghurt and teaspoon of honey and make a delicious fresh smoothie. Or you don't have to miss out on your traditional Sunday breakfast. There's nothing wrong with a cooked breakfast as long as it's a "grill up", not a "fry up" - fried foods hold the fat! Lean bacon is a good source of protein, trim the fat and grill. Eggs contain iron and calcium - to get the benefits poach or boil. Add some low-sugar, low-salt baked beans and a grilled tomato. Accompany with some toasted wholemeal bread and a glass of unsweetened fruit juice. Let your breakfast digest and then enjoy a Sunday morning walk (depending on your weight you'll burn between 90-190kcals walking moderately for 30 minutes). Don't miss lunch you can have a red steak or food stew and salad, eat half of your dessert. For dinner, When eating a meal, about half your plate should contain vegetables and the other half should be divided into two equal sections. One section should contain meat or cheese or beans, the other section should contain potatoes, rice, pasta or bread. Don't eat late at night.

Actually a medium sized banana has only 80 calories so no you won't get fat eating bananas.

The fruits to avoid is coconuts, and avocados.
