Can someone help me understand calories?!


Question: OK, so I was on this site where you put in how many calories you took in for the day, and how many calories you burned while excercising. And I've heard that in order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you eat.

Well, I consumed 1200 calories, and burned 115. - Yet, the website says I burned more than I took in and I am on track. And, it seems pretty outrageous to excercise long enough to burn 1200 calories.

Am I missing something here?

You burn calories doing nothing too. Daily, with no activity, your body uses up about 1,200 calories.
