How do i survive high school gym?!

Question: i am a junior and next semester i have gym, these are my concerns:

-its coed, not liking that
-im not sure if i still need my uniform this year, if so the shorts are full of paint and primer from the summer, if not i have no good gym clothes ($ is tight)
-i have an old ratty pair of shoes that look bad (again, $ is tight)
-im not fat, but am so out of shape its not even funny, i feel it will be embarrasing running out of breath so fast.

So, what are some things i can do to fix these concerns, prefably without money?

i know im weird, but im serious, so no stupid answers please! thanks....

haha not a weird question at all! I have similar concerns.
Pace yourself when you run, you probably hear that all the time but it works, and breathe from your nose... if you breathe out of your mouth it causes cramps when you run. Just find a friend in your class and you can get through it together! Clean your shoes with a paper towel and some warm water, it helps make them look better, and doesn't cost like anything. Try to get in shape, sit ups, push ups, just exercise whenever you can! Good luck!

check at goodwill for some cheap gym clothes and shoes, you will be amazed what cool things they have, start walking to get back in shape, good luck

well if u run out of breath and (faint I really hope u don't) then some guys can see if u r ok and carry to the nurse or somthing and don't worry about ur cloths it's gym its not a fashion runway for the years hottest new clothing line. So don'r worry about it just do ur best and don't come in last whatever u do.

High school gym class is an age old rite of passage most everyone has to endure - very few people feel 100% comfortable in PE, but the good thing is that it really does teach you to get over things by forcing you to break out of your shell a little. Don't worry, after a couple weeks of it you'll feel fine about it.

Personally, I wouldn't be too concerned about the clothes you have for gym, pretty much anything will work. If money really is that tight for a new pair of shorts then try going to somewhere like TJ Maxx or even the salvation army or goodwill. A decent pair of shorts doesn't have to set you back a lot, you can get a good pair for under $10.

Good health is a goal everyone should strive for. A young person should not feel so winded after less than an hour of physical activity, so maybe you can take this opportunity to get into better condition, which may mean taking your own personal time outside of school to do so. I feel bad for young people today who don't take the time to stay active, and I also blame the parents for not making it a priority. This is one of the big reasons for the obesity problem in the US these days and it sets a person up for a lifetime of health problems.

You aren't weird...but you are sharing that eternal hell known as high school. Sounds like you're in Catholic school or some private church school, correct? Screw the gym clothes and the shoes. Wear sweats (can you?) and be you. You might be out of shape, but, so help me, you can dance to your own tune in this, the most miserable year of anyone's life.
