Why do I get stronger, but don't look stronger?!

Question: I do not have many other details, the question is as simple as that. I eat well, I continually have gains, but I never 'look' stronger. I mean one small example is, I can curl around 45lbs. in each bicep, but it looks like I have never lifted a weight in my entire life. I feel like no matter what happens, I am at a dead end.

Sounds to me like your workout is technically sound. Alot of guys get blown up due to improper lifting and not doing the full range of motion in each rep. Alot of the huge guys belting out the "look at me screams and grunts" in the gym just jerk the weights around. Try heavy weights in circuit.

Everyone had great information, thanks. Report It

  • I think it's what makes lean muscle as opposed to large muscle. How many sets you do of lifting, etc..

it depends on how many you do in one day, week. whatever. plus i know a lot of people like that so its fine. if people say you cant prove them wrong.

Your arm probably has more fat in it than muscle and the fat is hiding the biceps. I curl 45lbs on the barbell, just the barbell no weights on it and I can see my biceps even when I am not working out. Do cardio to lose that weight. Also if your not seeing and growth it might be your diet. I notice myself getting stronger but don't see myself really gaining or growing weight, people said I have to eat more than I usually do.

It means that the God gives you the strength spiritually and emotionally. It isn't just about you're physical appearance that matters but your spiritual strength *** well. I'm very glad for you that you have achieved such strength. More power to you and god bless always.

ok here is the thing... There is a difference about being big or stronger... When you want to be nice and lean you do light weight which makes the muscle looks cutter and nice... If you want to be stronger you keep lifting until you keep improving... Notice that most of the guys that are stronger they don't look that cut.. it is obvious that they are not cut because they always do heavy weights and the guys that are cut is because they do alot of repetitions with light weight... so if you want to look both ways you do alittle of both and you will see results.. ok so if you don't have any fat if you really want to see good results try working out and start taking protein.. it help you build muscle i would suggest buy protein shakes they are good and makes you build muscle fast.. good luck..

the game there is in ur mind (mind set), what u must do is always think u r strong and stronger everyday, thats the way it helps u feel stronger, cuz ur body and mind will be one, u wont feel dead anymore, what ur mind can conceive ur body can achieve, this is also the same, just feel good (positive thinking) always, dont think what you dont like, it will trigger negative forces or it attracts bad happenings to u. feel good always :) this rule applies ALL things
