congratulations on giving up smoking.
Instead of starting a strict diet, try light exercise and then slowly increase the intensity. Try walking, swimming, hiking, dancing, take a self-defense class, whatever you might happen to enjoy.
Working out will reduce your stress levels so you'll be less tempted to smoke. It'll also increase your lung capacity, so you'll breathe much easier. In addition to that, it burns calories, and it releases endorphins. You don't have to run marathons- even a brisk 30-minute walk will do wonders, if you do it every day.

i gave up april still putting on weight dont worry takes about 6 months to calm down

The minute you quit smoking you should have started dieting. Unfortunately we need to offset the cravings and sometimes food is the only way to do so. The only diet I have found that works is the south beach diet. you could also look at mypyramid.gov and see what is considered healthy and follow it. It is pretty accurate. If you are determined you won't begin again. GOOD LUCK!!!

Concentrate on the staying-quitted for now - you would be more likely to fail if you put yourself under the pressure of dieting at the same time. Unless you are ballooning to a massive size, it will be doing you far less damage than continuing to smoke. Then in about four months, start to worry about the weight.

chew nicotine gum, dont eat away ur cravings, and just follow a regular dieting/exercising routine.

Congratulations for not smoking any more. That alone is a super big deal, since smoking is so bad for your health. About the weight...the best to do is exercising and watching what you eat...for example: eat pizza, chocolate,..., only in the weekends. Don
