He might be a professional trainer but I don't think he's a good one. Are you trying to go professional bodybuilding or just want to have a nice muscular beach body? You don't need 200g of protein and just because you're taking a lot of protein doesn't mean you will build muscle like that. I would say about 150-160g of protein per day and get it from eggs (eat like 1-2 egg yolks and the rest from egg whites), chicken breast, fish (tuna, salmon), fat-free dairy, whole-grains, vegetables like spinach, grounded flaxseeds, etc. Eat carbs that are about a little double your bodyweight, so like about 300-350g per day. Seperate all your protein and carb intake to like 5-6 meals a day. Don't just chug 150g of protein at once. For fats, get it from fish oil, flaxseeds, and olive oil.

I'm not a trainer and I can probably train you better than your trainer. I have bad genetics for being Asian but I went from 135 lbs at 5'9" to 172 right now with minimum fat gain. I went from benching 80 lbs once to now 175 five times. My squats went from 120 lbs five times to 235 five times. My deadlift went from 165 lbs five times to 345 five times.

Anyways back to you. You should also try to sleep 6+ hours. Most people are very busy and 8 hours just doesn't seem reasonable. Why no protein shakes? Whey protein shakes are the best pre and post workout to feed your muscles. Also if your trainer tells you to buy expensive supplements that claims to give you super human strength, ignore him. All I take are protein shakes for supplements.

PS: When I said take 150-160g of protein per day, I meant take about 1g - 1.5g of protein per bodyweight which is around your bodyweight right now so adjust according to your weight gains. Hope you find this helpful!

Eat grilled chicken (skinless) or fish. Beef is OK, but it is rather fatty, so I would stay away from a lot of it.

Also, cottage cheese and yogurt makes for a high protein snack and so does the Myoplex protein bars.

Egg whites (NO YOLK!!!) also contain a lot of protein so those would be good for you to eat as well!

Egg whites and chicken breast are good options. They are very high in protein. Try to cut back on carbs like white bread and pasta - they just cause a spike in blood surgar and provide very little nutrition.

It depends on your genetics as to how soon you'll see the results of your efforts! Everyone is different!

Peace.
