Trying to lose weight? I'm 16?!


Question: I am trying to lose like 50-70 pounds.

I'm 5'9 and weigh (ugh stupid holidays) 230

and I really want to lean down then start to gain muscle.

Today I went on the raw food diet.
But I get so hungry all the time! And now that I'm in school its torture! Anyone have anything that can help me? I

You sound like me, I am 15 and want to lose some weight and gain more muscle.

My new year's resolution was to lose weight. Last year, it was to give up sodas...that helped so much! And, I know what you mean about going back to school! One tip is to pack your own lunch, and don't bring money or change to buy extra food or drink at lunch, incase you "get more hungry."

I love junk food, but am trying to eat less. What I do when I am hungry is have water and a fruit, and then if I am still hungry I will grab a 100 calorie pack. The snacks in my pantry are 100 calorie packs, nuts, almonds, granola/fiber bars, trail mixes, and veggie chips (made with real vegetables).

I keep a granola bar in my purse and if I do get a little hungry, I will just grab it and eat some of it. Some activities I do are drill team, working out at the gym when I can, and I like scootering and rollerblading. It's more fun to exercise with a friend, and also to have music and inspiration.

As for parties, I try to eat before I go over, that way I don't eat a lot of junk food. And, I bring water or ask for water. I also try to not eat after 8 PM.

I am going to keep a journal and I hope that I achieve my 20 lbs. weight loss! =] Good luck to you too! =D

Just because your hungry doesn't mean you have to eat. I experiencd that problem when I was 14 and I forced myself to slow down and eat only at appropriate times (whether its three good meals a day or 6-8 small ones). It takes willpower, but I lost 40 lbs and I felt a whole lot better about myself. The only diet is correcting your eating habits. Eventually, I wasn't so hungry all the time. Your stomach is just used to being fed on demand.

You're still young. Don't do anything drastic.
