Have any of you done the Atkins diet or any other diet and work?!


Question: Definitely the Weight Watchers programme - mind you I have never had to lose much - only about 8 - lbs - but their recipes are easy and you soon get into the habit of sensible, good food. I believe the Atkins diet too radical for my needs, and I do enjoy food and want to have a variety.

I jokingly call the Atkins Diet the "All Grease Special"

I have had several friends drop a big amount of weight the first two months....they have ALL put it back on and then some!! You can't fad diet yourself thin.
Moderation....Calorie control - Period.
Less calories in, burning calories off....it's the ONLY long term and healthy solution. Especailly since you cannot pick a diet plan that really doesn't jive with your eating style. You won't be happy and you won't stick to it. (For example, I'm not much of a meat eater -- the Atkins diet is NOT suited for me at all)

I've done slimming world and have lost 2 1/2 stones. Easy to follow and you need never be hungry.

I lost 3 stone in 7 months on Weightwatchers.

atkins worked great for me (in the begining) ... if you can handle the REALLLLLLLLLLY bad headache the first 3 days its fine. it took me about 2 months to get to my goal weight (loss of 50lbs) and then when i finally got their i was like woo whooo Im at my goal im done with the diet and then gained it all back in one bite of bread. lol good luck

stop eating so much.........try to think about how much food you put in............and how much sh1t comes out then find a balance

I have never tried the Atkins diet or ever will. Several of my family members did try it and well the results were pretty good but then I started noticing there strength was gone they felt tired most of the time. I have never dieted in my life, diets don't work but with portion control and exercises you can stay fit.

Atkins is a TERRIBLE diet!!! It's so challenging and full of fat!! It seems good at first being able to eat allot of meat, cheese and rich food...but it's very hard on your system. I would suggest picking up the Sugar Buster's diet...it worked wonders for me years ago and it was so simple to follow. I have followed much of the diet for the last 5 or 6 years after my weight loss. I've not been more than 8 lbs above my ideal since losing 70 lbs.

Allot of healthy meats, complex carbs and good vegies! Eating at restaurants isn't hard since you can alway get grilled anything, vegies and salad with balsamic vinegar! Plus you get fruits to eat and pbj's!!! And there is bread...the type called Exekial bread at most grocers...it's very good and is awesome toast. See...easy already!

Atkins - I felt like a greaseball and didn't "go" for 10 days. WW is good but costs. Personally, I like the Food Doctor everyday diet - works for me! You can get the books dead cheap as well.

i haven't tried the atkins diet but my sister did it & felt sick & had really dreadful headaches and awful bad breath with it. the only diet that ever worked for me is the weight watchers points plan - you get a number of points you are allowed to eat each day & everything has a value. it's simple & you can still go out / socialise / have a treat here & there so long as it's within your daily allowance. throw in some exercise & the lbs will fall off.
