A serving of meat is the size of a deck of cards and a serving of vegetable is one half cup and same for fruit about 1/2 cup size. Dairy is one half cup and cereal is 1/2 cup and bread is one slice. See a lot of it is 1/2 half cup so it is easy to follow.

I guess you should subtract 500 from what you get there. I've managed to lose 15 pounds in 1 month, although, I've heard that 1 pound per week is healthiest... I heard that it ensures that you're lossing fat, not muscle.

I think it is 1200 for girls and 1700 for guys if they dont exercise
