How many times a week should I go to the gym, if I want to be a size ten by East!


Question: I'm a UK size 12 at the moment, and I want to drop a dress size by Easter. My friend's wedding is coming up, and I don't want to look podgy in the photos!!

Is three times a week enough?
I usually spend one and a half hours at the gym.

A five mile walk (or an equivalent exercise) will just about use up the energy supplied (calories) by an average size chocolate bar (350g).
Bearing this in mind, I doubt whether there enough days in week to lose enough weight by Easter using exercise alone.
Whilst the exercise will do you good it should not be considered as a weight loss method.
The most effective weight loss method is to eat less food.
You must continue to eat a delicious, healthy, balanced diet.

Impossible to answer really - everyone loses weight at different rates, just go as often asyou can and eat healthily and im sure you could drop 1 size by easter. Good Luck

A minimum of three times a week.

Three times a week should be fine for you to lose those inches. Also try eating half of what you normally eat, and don't eat after 7 p.m. Good luck!

Hun size doesn't matter its how good you look that matters..

btw-My brothers getting engaged and your invited so dont forget to buy 2 dresses.

You can't only go to the gym to lose weight there are other things that you have to do like watching what you eat. I would say you need to go 4 times. Also watch those calories.

eh Mz B, it would help if you tell what you spend your one and a half hours doing exactly... you could be just sitting there for all I know. ^^ If you spend 5 days a week for 1.5 hrs ea. visit doing productive things, then you should easily achieve your goal. It would help if you took my advice about exchanging some of your favorite less-healthy food for some salads and fruits (there are so many good ones to choose from!).

Wow,one and a half;)I definitely suggest 3 times a week and focus on exercises like riding bicycle or stepper.Try not to eat after 10pm and make breakfast your biggest meal of the day.With more fruit and vegetables too I think there's no way for you to fail=]

I wouldn't advise over doing it. Many people think that can go on an extreme routine to make them lose weight fast, but do it too quickly and your heart will not be able to keep up with your body. Just remember to eat healthily, not necessarily organic but definiltly cut out the snacks, eat fruit, veg, things which make you feel full for longer like potatos, avoid bread and too much pasta it just bloats you. Do a lot of cardio but don't over do it. Keep it up and don't let yourself talk you out of going to the gym as this does happen to many people, and another reason people often give up is because they expect results too quickly and get fed up. Never let anything stop you no matter what. Come easter, if you keep to your routine you will feel good and look good. Don't worry nobody will become an olympic athlete overnight but if you keep to your goals you will be successful, anything if possible.
