Salad??????!


Question: If you ate it everyday for lunch and dinner, and like i dont know added some kind of ham to it would that be healty and make you lose weight?

I think it is a very good thing to eat but maybe have a big salad for lunch with TURKEY and a small one with maybe some bacon bits with a light sensible dinner for the evening meal. I know people with colon problems can't eat alot of salad.

Sure, eating lots of veggies has nutrition and fills you up. Add an oz or two of chopped ham (try to get a lean ham) or chicken or a hard boiled egg and some beans, you've got your protien. Try to eat some whole grains in the day, too, like along side the salad or as a snack or oatmeal for breakfast or something, drink lots of water and eat fruit for snacks between meals.

Just don't smother salad in dressings. If you do use dressing try to use just a little bit of a light dressing, or use balsamic vinegar & a dash of olive oil, or some salt & pepper & a squirt of lemon juice or something like that.

Salad is really a great way to lose, but if that's all you eat you'll get too bored with it. Try fruit and yogurt for breakfast, maybe have eggs twice a week. And a chef salad with all kinds of raw veggies, not just lettuce, topped with chicken slices and cheese is a good dinner.Add dark greens & red and orange peppers to your salad too. Broiled fish is another great source of protein for dinner with a salad. Much luck to you.
