Feelings of intense deprivation undermine lots of diets. If a burger and fries is what you want most, then your goal should be to eat them as a reasoned act, and not as a compulsion. So give yourself one "burger and fries" ration per week, or make it a reward for sticking to your diet otherwise. Eating smaller portions will also help, but if you're sticking to a reasonable (not starvation!) diet consistently, then even a really indulgent greasy meal once per week isn't unreasonable.

Again, the key is to get yourself thinking about burgers as something you choose to have once in a while, not something you devour when you're overwhelmed by your cravings.

Then Don't eat. Do something else to take your mind. Something the mind focuses on. I know. Masturbate and don't think about burgers or junk food. Or do something else. Don't mean to be perverted.

Just drink lots of water or juice. You are always hungry for junk food if your thirsty!

It depends on what type of diet you are on.

I guess you have two options. You can eat the burger and fries and then make up for it with exercise. You can not eat the burger and fries, which would be the better thing to do, and eat something healthy, like a grilled chicken sandwich and baked potato.

go to the super market and get ground tUrkey meat...then u can make Ur own burgers and it can still be healthy!!
then peal ur own potato...it might take a while but it'll be wroth the wait...and u can stick to Ur diet

Drink a pint of water, most of the time when you think your hungry your actually just thirsty

Treat yourself to a small helping and cutout something else.

Resist it. It'll make you be able to resist it in the future too, and when you eat it, you'll probably wish you didnt in the first place. Keep strong girl!

sometimes you can't fight the urge...Your urging burger maybe for protein and fries for potassium.....drink allot of water and skinless chicken.

u can make bakes fries instead of frying them and hav a soy burger...

A Happy meal at McDonalds is a meal in the Weight Watchers diet. You have to get a diet drink, though. But the hamburger and fries in the Happy meal is a full meal so go ahead, just don't have anything else with it.

i am doing weight watchers. it is the best diet because i have lost about 50 pounds already and i don't feel like i'm on a diet because you can eat what you like - just stick to the daily points (though you should try to tick off a certain amount of veges, fruits, dairy, oils and water per day). if i crave a burger and fries i usually have the lean beef burger from McDonalds and a small fries - that isn't too bad and it stops the cravings.

once every 2 weeks or so have a splurge and excercise day. were you splurge at meals but excercise a little bit more that you usually would.

eat in moderation though. you know you can have a cookie ocassionally. like 1 or 2. but not the whole box etc..

you could have half a burger and a few fries.

Mika, diets are tricky. If you completely cut out certain types of food, the diet wont stick. (and may not be a healthy one for you, either.) Too much denial is a sure way to blow a diet fast.
Try sparkpeople.com for a free diet site that is FABULOUS. Loads of support, alternatives, ideas for motivation. I would say if you can eat that meal and be happy for the rest of the week with sticking to your diet- then enjoy. If you think it'll just put you onto a slippery slope of falling off the good wagon, avoid it. Drink a lot of water and snack on healthy stuff so you don't feel hungry. Taking long walks is very effective, believe it or not, in dealing with cravings.
Stick with that diet, as long as it's a sensible one and find all sorts of wonderful free support on:

you know been on a diet doesnt necessarily mean missing out on burgers and fries and other "bad" food. you just have to learn to eat these types of food in moderation.
the minute you go on a diet you are going to want to eat the foods that you arent allowed. if you stick to eating nutritional healthy food all the time with treats like burger/fries etc only some of the time, you will find weight loss a lot easier to achieve.

That's garbage. Don't put it in your body. Listen to your mind not your stomach. You just started your diet. Just try and resist the urge. If you eat it, you may feel guilty afterwards. The longer you go without eating this junk, the more you will be able to resist it.

Change your target weight.

I say eat it and exercise later

McDonald's :
Small hamburger [no cheese] : 250 calories
Small cheeseburger : 300 calories
Small fries : 250 calories

GET SMALLS!!!
or a Happymeal :)
And diet soda!!!
Even a small soda has 250+ calories if it isn't diet.
