Answers: And does it have to be high intensity exercise?

Can one just walk a few miles?

Yes and yes.

Exercise can help with depression, hypothyroidism, diabetes and a whole myriad of other ailments. All of which are affected by certain hormones.

High intensity exercise is unnecessary. Walking is good. Amazon.com has a book about walking to better health. Put walking in the search engine under subject.

Walking has so many benefit's beside's hormone stabilizeing factor's-it control's not just pineal gland and pituitary's but many other gland's wait for the stimulation of awakening that walking create's, and without this the gland's stay in standby mode-(whatever science call's it) don't know but if you walk a little more each day and in five year's walk or jog every day-my feeling is you; will be twice as healthy as you are now (if you don't exercise your heart mind and soul by walkin praying and listening to your inner self whilst doing so.

Yes. If you jog everyday, you'll get less or none period pains and PMS. Walking won't work that well, but jogging really helps. It has to be done everyday for a couple of months to take its effects. However, the desirable effect stops once you stop this routine. I'm a living prove. =)
