Sometimes when I think I want to eat a cookie I just stop and consider: Do I REALLY want this? I know it sounds simple and maybe easier said than done, but that's just the will power you have to have. Sometimes I say, "Yes I do, but only half. I can eat half and put the rest away and have it later. Or, I can just throw it away... It's not like I'm starving or so in poverty that I'm wasting lots of money."
Sometimes if I think I want it and then take a bite, if it turns out that it's not very good I say, "Obviously I don't love this and I'm not going to eat what I don't love, so I'm going to throw it away."

Finally, just don't keep those things in your house. I NEVER buy cookies, chips, etc. If I feel like I want ice cream but I have to get dressed, go to the car, drive to the Dairy Queen or wherever, decide what I want, spend my money, wait in line, etc. etc. I realize that I'd rather stay home and play a video game or something :D

I guess the bottom line, however, is your will power. Just force yourself to realize that you don't actually want it... Cut an apple instead of reaching in the cookie jar. Eat a sugar free fudgesicle instead of Ben & Jerry's.... Simple.

I hear ya, my New years resolution was 2 things, but for this case one of them was to cut down on fast food, and to loose weight.

i already cheated on it, its so hard and tempting not to! im going to only have it once a month at most. and hopefully that "fast food" will be something like subway.

good luck to you, if you try im sure you can overcome it!

old habits die hard. you get where you want to be so its all down hill from there. no. you changed your lifestyle but still love your old one. find a middle mark you can live with thats not too hard but expect more of yourself, because you know what you are capable of. wieght fluxuation is also normal. (+-3 pounds)

The problem with cookies, ice cream ,etc...is that they are loaded with High Fructose Corn Syrup, this junk doesn't register in our brain as food. Doesn't promote release of "Leptin" the hormone released when we've eaten.
So you get a rush of sugar plus this HFCS that quickly releases too much insulin, then a rebound hypoglicemia. You are hungry again.

Hard to counsel you; but what I've done is that anything with HFCS in it; don't buy . And prompltly write to the company complaining.
Also don't eat donuts, cookies ,etc...it's all cr.p man made in laboratories; this doen't even qualify as food!

Only fruit enters our home for dessert. NOTHING else.
Hope my experience and thoughts can help you understand why WE ALL gain so much weight.
We can fight back....don't buy this junk, it's killing our kids. and us adults.

You need to follow a diet that tastes good and has a strict regiment to follow. Unfortunately there aren't many out there that have both of those qualities. I am a personal trainer and I design diets for many clients and I have a great diet that has worked very well for every client that has stuck with it. Shoot me an email and I'll send you the link.
