Coffee has caffeine in it and caffeine is a stimulant. Caffeine can constrict blood vessels which makes it harder to get oxygen to your brain. It also raises your heart rate by 15% which makes your heart and lungs work harder than normal. This can cause exhaustion. You will experience a lack of GOOD sleep if you consume too much caffeine. This will cause extreme fatigue.
I drank several cups of coffee for several months and I just couldn't understand why I was feeling tired all of the time. I recently cut my caffeine intake. I am now drinking 2 cups (16 oz) of coffee before I leave for work and then I drink 64 oz of water the rest of the day. I feel much more alert and my sleep habits have gotten better. I wake up feeling rested and sometimes wonder if I even need the coffee to get me going. I like the taste of it and that's the only reason I do drink it in the morning.

yes and kidneys...i believe that too much caffeine can cause kidney stones...ouch!

But a cup of coffee every day is good for your health.

Well, coffee isn't a substance that decreases your health, it's actually the Caffiene that does the damage (and gives you that great awake/energized feeling)

Caffeine speeds up your metabolizm (the energy,stamina and power your body can work with) and the faster your metabolism, the faster and more effieciently you are using the energy your body produces, but this requires your body to have greater resources---this is where the problems comes in.

Caffeine is a direutic (makes you dehydrated), which means you are losing water from your body at a greater rate than normal. Water is an essential component to your body's well being, and caffeiene is just taking it away from you.

Caffiene is a calcium extractor/stripper (theres' a scientific term for it, but i have forgotten it) and as you may already know, calcium is what you need for healthy bones and joints---you may have heard that caffeine stunts your growth, well that statement is true in some ways, but false in others. The "stunt" can be decreased simply by drinking milk (excellent calcium source).

Caffiene causes insomnia, which means you'll have trouble sleeping. Solomence means that you feel, VERY tired but cannot fall asleep---similar to restless. I draw this point because eventually the beneifts of caffiene wear off (you feel tired again) and most likely your off to goto sleep, your sleep pattern is ruined by caffiene (your body suddenly gets energy by coffee, it's suddenly losing water etc.) and will cause difficulty in sleeping.
