How much weight can I lose if I eliminate sodas, regular and diet, and all junk !


Question: I have about 15 pounds to lose. I have struggled with my weight most of my life and am trying to keep it off. I know it is day to day struggle for the rest of my life. I am 5'8' and weigh about 174. I like to get down to 160 or below to about 145 but my doctor said about 160 is about more my weight because I am tall.

okay, it will take a bit, but you will lose it. if you cut out anything that is just empty calories (regular sodas and junk food. also, add muscle - every pound of muscle burns 50 - 100 calories a day just by being there..... for the junk food, if you have overwhelming cravings, make it at home in small portions once a month or so, so you don't feel like you are depriving yourself and you stay on your diet. .... good luck..

you could lose that much weight... sugar and junk food will pack pounds. You need to replace with good foods, though. Increase fruits and vegatables. And, increase water intake...8 8oz. cups a day. Decrease red meats and animal fats (milk, cheeses, dairy).

Add a little cardio, and you could definately do that and then some...

i think you will just lose some but too hard and not that much result if you do that. you really have to go for exercise if you are really eager to lose weight

it depends on how much junk you ate before but yeah you will definatly lose weight but cutting that out. it is also healthier. good luck

Well you still have to exercise. But I used to drink tons of sodas and eat junk food and I was really fat. But when I stoped and eat a healthy diet and worked out I lost alot of pounds. I still feel fat though. I am 5'2 and weigh 120. I need to lose some. But if you stop you can lose alot just like i did.

You cannot lose weight by not eating enough and being hungry. When you starve your body it goes into defense mode and stores calories as fat to prepare for famine.
You must replace the junk food with 6 - 8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. You need to eat these foods until you are no longer hungry. Just eat small portions of meat and other more fattening things and pig out on vegetables.

Sodas and junk food will do it. I went cold last year off both. And am proud to say I lost 90 pounds. I had a beer belly and didn't even drink lol...now I an trim and lean..in fact too lean my friends say lol...but I like the new me...I don't lose my breath just walking from one room to another lol...anymore.
Good luck it takes will power NOT to STOP at the fast food place and to drink water not sodas.
