I need a plan....(overweight, physical disabilities)?!

Question: Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on a healthy weight loss plan that includes some very low impact exercises. I have back injuries and several problems that have to do with excess scar tissue. I find it very hard to work out and I'm not sure of what I can do! I cannot afford to join a gym, either. Any suggestions on a low fat menu and low impact exercises would be awesome! Thank you. =)

If you can afford to get level 1 reiki training, i suggest you do it. it's around $40 out here, and they even give treatments for free, so you might find a similar deal where you are. at least look into it. deep breathing exercises are also very beneficial; spend about 5-10 minutes everyday focusing on using as much of your lungs as you can. over time, this will make you healthier and give a more positive attitude too. drinking water upon arising every morning (i do 6 cups, some people opt for 3, and some fanatics do a whole gallon; just be sure to be consistent and do it every day) also helps supply the body and flush toxins. when you start, if you're going to do more than 3 cups, be sure to be close to a toilet and give yourself a full hour after drinking; the first week or two will be full of urine, diarrhea, and other undesirable stuff being flushed from your body as your large intestines get filled with water for the first time in years.
if you keep saturated and trans fats to under 20 grams a day, you'll be fine in that department; i'd also suggest high protein, especially if you're going to do any of the exercises i'm about to give.
yoga(about 20 asanas held for about a minute each), pilates( a 50 minute workout), running(for 10 minutes starting), walking(for a half hour to start), 10 push-ups and sit-ups on waking and before retiring at night, or even just 25 jumping jacks a day will all begin to improve your muscle and health. All of these work great in combination with each other too, so experiment, and remember to get plenty of protein :)
oh, and congrats for becoming one of the AM
good luck with your diet.

The most important thing is to get a diet plan. I can't workout a lot because of my health, but I am able to lose weight when I have a very careful diet. I suggest counting calories. Go ahead and count up the calories you consume and see how much you need to cut out. You should eat no more than 2000 and 1200-1600 is great for losing weight. If you follow this, then you definitely will lose weight.

Another great thing you can do is weight lifting. It burns a lot of fat and calories and is low-impact if you do it right. Buy some free weights and some ankle weights and try a bunch of different exercises. For cardio you can do walking, yoga, or pilates.

Just eat nothing but fruit, vegetables (except for potatoes) salad and fruit juice. You can eat as much of these as you want and make sure you eat a variety of different fruits and veg to get all the vitamins you need.

You will never be hungry because you can eat as much as you like and still lose weight. I lost 2 stone in 3 months by doing this and more healthy and alive than I ever have.

You can eat salads, roasted vegetables fruit salads, home made soups there are so many nice things to eat and just eat until you are full. No need to gorge yourself but you wont feel hungry. Make sure you drink lots of water! Cut out things like bread fried foods and also things like pasta as this will slow down your weight loss.

I swear by this and it worked for me, so good luck to you, you can do it x

I'm mildy disabled myself. Walking is the best exercise. Running is the WORST by far. Please ignore any advice that involves running. With previous injuries you do not want to impact your joints, no matter where.

Reiki is not recognized as much more than quack medicine.

Visit www.skepdic.com and use their alphabetical search to read more about it.

Diet is important too. Counting calories, yes, but don't forget you need protein too. If you don't want meat, any beans such as pimento, kidney, black or lima beans provide plenty of protein. For good carbohydrates, long grain brown rice is great.

Above all, please consult a professional nutrionist who is in a medical office. Quacks abound, and people get hurt. Avoid any "herbal remedies" well meaning people may mention. Unregulated, you don't know what ingredients are in those capsules.

I suggest you try a cleansing diet. I did and lost 12 pounds quickly and 32 pounds in a month. Cleansing works by removing toxins from the body to restore metabolism and get everything working right again. I have more energy, sleep better and have more lean muscle on my body. you can get info toll free at 1-877-587-4647 or online at http://thebestcleansingdiet.com
