Should I stop when this happens?!

Question: I was on the x-trainer today (first time I've been on it in a while) I was doing one of the programs based on heart rate. My normal heart rate is 95-100/70, yes, very low. I should average mid 160's for a good cardio. Well, my heart rate was 189 for a good part of the workout. Should I have stopped? How can I keep my heart rate at a good cardio rate?

How old are you? 189 is a bit high for most adults. You don't need to stop, but simply ease back until it gets down to your cardio zone. Find a pace that you can keep for 20 minutes with your pulse in this zone.

Make sure you are breathing correctly. Don't unnaturally force your breath like you are huffing and puffing.

Perhaps you should have done a different activity that wouldn't put that much stress on the heart. But I think It's ok for it to go that high as long you feel ok and you aren't overworking your body.

that seems good....but dont over do it on the first time in a long time...you know?

start off slow...then gradually work your way up....

it depends on your age and weight but still dosent matter that much but be careful
