Is yogurt healthy?!


Question: to me it is just something that has alot of sugar in it that tastes good. almost like ice cream, except not frozen.

Yogurt is very healthy but you're better off if you sweeten it yourself. People are telling you to buy the "light" variety. Do not do this! Aspartame (the artificial sweetener commonly used in light yogurt) is an artificial chemical that causes cancer in lab mice. The people who said buy plain and add fruit are super smart =).

yes yogurt is healthy for you, it's dairy cultivated with friendly bacteria. not like ice cream with lots of cream and sugar.

You can eat plain yogurt which helps smooth out your skin. I would think thats about it that it does.

it has probiotics that are good for your digestion and immune system. buy the light kind, it has artificial sweetener.

I personally prefer to use nonfat plain yogurt, and blend them with frozen strawberries and a little milk and splenda. so much better than any of the kind with fruit already in it

Yogurt is good for you as long as you eat the natural kinds. Avoid ones with corn syrup, which happens to be in nearly all yogurt varieties, and ones with weird fake fruit flavorings. If you do this, you can obtain nutrients and calcium. You're completely right about most of them being more like a dessert as far as nutrition goes, though.

It can be healthy for some people, if you are not lactose. It has bacteria that are still alive which helps your digestive system and skin. The stuff without any added sugar.. not the light kind but plain is the best for you.

Yes yogurt is healthy for you. If you can get the Low-fat, unflavored yogurt. And make sure it has live cutures in it. This will help you digestion. If you must have something in it then you will use Splenda and FRESH blueberries or Strawberries. This will get you a dairy serving and half of your fruit out of the way. Or you can just enjoy it with some Angel Food Cake because it is not as fatty as regular cake because it doesn't have the egg yoks in it.

It is good, there are low fat and sugar free varieties that are better. It is good for your digestion.

it's very good for you, but I look for the ones with less sugar in them. ideally you should eat it w/o sugar but it's sometimes hard to find in the stores.
