rice does have quite a lot of carbs (ignore calories they are decieving) but with the amount of working out you do you should be fine. Ultimately if you must have rice , brown rice is a healthier option. I ve got some recipes on ym blog http://myfitmate.blogspot.com/ that include it.

hope that helps

Rice will not make you fat. It sounds like you do a lot of exercise so I would not worry about eating rice. Rice has about 200 calories for one cup and that certainly is not going to make you gain weight.

Try switching to brown rice and eating half a plate instead of a whole and you should be fine.

Eating is all about portion control. Rice is very good for you, and you should have it in your diet. Loading it with butter and salt however, defeats the purpose. (I'm not saying you do :p ) You should be including it in a balanced diet, w/ protein, and vegetables. If you like rice alot....try a stir fry. You can get it all right there....and super healthy!!

Brown rice is a good replacement but since you workout, you'll be fine with eating white rice.

white, refined flour, such as white rice, adds extra fat to your stomach and is not very healthy. it causes a rise in blood sugar and makes you hungrier later.

istead, you should try brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole grain bread, etc. these types of carbs are much higher in vitamins and minerals and won't cause you to gain weight around your stomach. they also contain a lot of fiber which reduces appetite and could even help you lose weight

hope this helps! :]

It would make you fat if you sat on your rear end all day AND all you ate were 15 cups of rice. (That would be 3,000 calories per day, WITHOUT exercise... you might need that many calories if you are having hard workouts.) That's just ridiculous. Nobody can get fat on rice. Who would want to sit on their butt all day and eat 15 cups of rice? Bleh.
