How can I become more active and social?!


Question: My activity levels are low, mainly from sitting on my fat butt on Y!A.

I want to be more active and social.

I think I am just plain lazy.

Help?

It has to start with you, and no one else can really motivate you to become active, trust me, I've been there . . . heck, I'm still there and I'm 25. Being 13, I'll assume you're in high school, or about to be (8th/9th grade area), which means that you have tons of opportunities out there for you. Obviously, your school should be a starting place for you since many offer a variety of groups or organizations. Don't like what they offer, look into starting one of your own. Next, look into community events. A lot of communities, at least around here, have Rec Boards or some type of Activity Boards that offer various programs, look into one of them. So, start with your school and see if anything interests you, then move on to your community and surrounding ones as well. It'll help if you have 1 or more friends go with you since people are more inclined to participate in unfamiliar areas with people they know, but don't forget that you have to want to be active and make yourself go to these things too. Also make sure it's something you're interested in doing, or else it'll be way too easy for you to stop and get back into the inactive lifestyle. Hope it helps, and sorry I can't give specific ideas, but it has to be based on what you like, not what we think you might like.

Start going skating

Join a recreational sports team like swimming. It also helps to eat healthy treats like odwalla bars. Join a hiking group.

put the mouse down and put the tennis shoes on. Get out and meet real people.

i think that you should hangout with your friends more often, and also join a sport[=

by joining a sport you will be able to be active(excersice)....
and also be able to make friends so that's a bonus.
you also get to hang with them why doing it.

The first step is getting off of your fat butt and walking to burger king. You will meet a lot of fat social people. Hope this has helped. LOL

theres no secret to being more active, you just gotta make yourself do it- it will get easier but not for a good few weeks.

Try stuff you can enjoy, thers gotta be a sports place near you that plays football/soccar/basketball for young people? there you can also meet people and get some mates.

You can also join facebook but then your just still on the computer all day and thats not what your looking for.

hate to be an ***, but get off YA. Try finding a group or two that you can join where you will meet new people. Usually, a sports league or a volunteer organization in which you will meet once or twice a week will get you where you want to be in getting to know new people and getting active. Later....

GO AWAY OF YOUR COMPUTER.
There's indeed a couple of interesting sports to do, you can run with some friends. I used to go in a club where I could practice a lot of different sports with mates, but I had to pay each year for that.
Maybe you can help people to get money ?
You should also do a project with some friends. There's a bunch of competition where you have to create things. But keep in mind :
GO AWAY OF YOUR COMPUTER and also :
GO AWAY OF THE TV

Just invite folk round to your place then you won't have to go out at all. They can chat between themselves whilst you sit on YA but you'll have been social

Classes are always fun, and at the right gym they're pretty cheap. and if your 13 you can prob get them even cheaper.
