I'm 21 years old, 5'9, and I'm 146 lbs...and my BMI is about 20.

You are young, but you should go to the doctor and get a regular check up, because one can never really tell. It goes by THREE different Weight standards and is the BMI is in 18 different ranges between those THREE. Everyones body is different.

Good Luck!

Toward the bottom of the page is a BMI calculator. That should be helpful.

I think that's underweight

you're a little underweight, but its fine. As long as you don't get down to 15.

you freakishly tall.. i guess ur pretty slim then...

I think so. It doesn't sound unhealthy. Maybe add some weight by building muscle to your physique.

bmi is a bad measure of health, body composition (body fat %) is a much better measure. with regards to bmi however, it is within the normal range.

You sound really skinny to me, but I don't think you should make any changes.

healthy bmi is around 19. You are a bit under but I suppose perfect for modeling. Best of luck to you.

You're underweight at that height and weight. The bmi says that for your height you should be around 125 lbs. Really though as long as you are healthy and don't have a lot of fat on you then you should be ok.

it's underweight, but you're 13.
if you're eating well & athletic, then it's fine,
and you'll become a more healthy weight as you grow.

a healthy BMI is 18 - 24.9. you seem quite thin since the usual way to guess the weight u should be around is to multiply the # of inches you are over 5 feet and add it to 100. your normal weight @ 5'9 would be 145ish. being you are 13 you probably have some growing to do still. maybe it is also genetic. whatever the reason - just be sure you are eating a healthy balanced diet! good luck!

Thats a little low!!!! BUt BMIs r not a good judging thing its has nothing 2 do with ur bone mass, persent of fat and water and alot more!!! Don't try to judge by BMI, instead every 5 feet=100 and every 1 inches = 5 lbs. So u should weigh 145! but being skinney is perfect!! so no prob just try to get a little muscel!

As far as BMI can accurately measure true "good health", that is ok, but underweight (probably perfect for a model, yuk). To truly measure body fat, you need to use calipers, etc. You're young, your metabolism is strong. Enjoy it while you can.
