How do I not be so hunchback??!


Question: I have a pretty bad slouch and its getting worse. I drink at least 1 or 2 bottles of water a day (not much soft drinks) and thats all I know to do. Is there a certain exercise I can do to not be so slouchy? I try to stand up straight, but then I just get back to normal hunch after a while. Also, at the end of the day, my back really hurts and I think its because of my heavy bookbag. How can I stop looking like Quaisimodo the hunchback?

Your back muscles are stretched and weak.

Your chest and abdominal muscles are stronger, and shorter. They only need to be a little stronger.

You need to stretch the chest and ab muscles, and strengthen the muscles in your back. Since you are aware of this, try to sit tall and straight as frequently as possible. You'll tire, but slowly, you'll get so you can hold good posture longer and longer.

Lifting weight for your back muscles will also help. Bench rows, and lat pulls should help, but only do them with good posture.

lose the freshman bag and get a locker.

i hav the same prob sleep on your back, and make sure to stretch out your back muscles
