who said dat?!!?

because it makes you fatter! if u eat later when your body is at rest it does not burn what you eat and you store it! and plus than your gonna feel crummy in the morning

its not good to eat after 9:00 because your stomach canot digest it fast enough before you go to sleep

anything fatty

I don't no why?

Bad for the stomach and weight gain! Very happy with myself, I eat a lot! and still under 180. LOL

because momma didnt raise no fool

"they" say, not to eat after 7 p.m. actually, and I believe it is because your metabolism slows down while you are sleeping

i always eat after 9pm

because food is fuel for your body and having a gut food of food just before sleeping will promote weight gain, also eating heavy foods before bedtime often causes nightmares

It is because it will create more gastric juices than necessary which will cause all kinds of gastrointestinal problems, major heartburn and even sinus problems.

too much eating before sleeping is not good...a light snack would be ok

I would like to know the ans to that one too

It's not good because after 9:00 most people stop being active and your metabolism slows down. It's not unhealthy but it is a good way to gain weight.

I think what you need to stay away from is eating soon before you go to bed. You won't feel that great when you wake up after you've been digesting food while you slept.

Your metabolism slows down when you are sleeping so theres a better chance of things being converted directly into fat. As well, when you sleep all your regular systems slow down so that your body can concentrate its energy on repairing itself from the day. If you eat 4 hours before you go to sleep part of that energy will go towards digesting the food and you will wake up less well rested.

you gain more weight

That's the time people mistaken sleepiness for hunger. That's when people start falling behind on their New Year's resolution

Not good because your body slows down at night and so does your metabolism therefore it wont process it all that well, and lying in bed with a belly full of food cant be good especially when you on your back it wont digest very well at all.

because most people fall asleep within 2 hours after then and you can't burn very many of the calories off before you go to sleep so you sleep with lots of extra calories in your body if you eat after 9:00PM

that's not true. ppl prob. say that because they ate a load prior to that and do not want to get fat. technically you should be like a cow and eat small portioned meals. then it wouldn't be a big deal to "eat after 9"...snack-wise mostly

That statement needs qualification to make sense.

It all depends on what time you actually go to sleep. You shouldn't eat for at least 3 hours before falling asleep. But other than that, there's no time restrictions on when it's good/not good to eat.

Good luck !

Well the average person it is not good, however due to the different scheduling of people in this day in age that time actually corresponds to the time that you are ready to rest. I work nights so I am fine eating at 9pm, however if I eat at like 3-4 am I am in the rest period. Really the moral of the story is it depends on your schedule. I say don't eat heavy 1-2 hours before bed.

It is not good to eat foods (especially carbs) close to bed time because during sleep, metabolism slows down quite a bit. This in turn causes the ingested food to be stored as fat because it is not metabolized by the body. In order to avoid weight gain, have dinner no later than 7p.

Unless you are actively employed on the 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shift, then you needn't worry about your eating habits during this time. However, if you are going to go to bed soon after 9:00 p.m., the body has no use for the food you just ate. This is why some people pick up "extra pounds." There is no place within your body to exercise off the food that is lying dormant therein. You might do this for a few times without a problem. I would suggest that you not make a habit out of it. I wish you well.

May you and your loved ones, have a prosperous,
healthy, God-inspired, Happy New Year.

It can be a fairly good way to get heartburn and/or indegestion while you are trying to sleep.

But other than that, nothing really.

It can be good if you are trying to gain weight because most people's metabolism slows down at night. So, instead of the food fueling your energy, it will automatically get stored as fat.

If you are trying to lose weight, it is better to eat during your more active hours.

I heard it's 7. Nut I don't care. Had a bowl of cereal 15 minutes ago. I was starving. It's not good because it makes you uncomfertable while you sleep because you're digesting it.

You're less active and you can't burn off the calories. The leftover calories just sit in your body and add up as extra weight. If you have to eat at night just eat as little as possible.

basically, your metabolism slows down as your body starts being less active. and then your body has no need for extra energy because its shutting down so then the body has nothing to do with it so it stores it in your stomach(extra fat) and you cant burn it off while your sleeping.
