I need REAL answers here please!?!

Question: I am 5"7 and weigh 160 lbs. But I dont feel or look 160. Why is that?
In fact- I am sort of comfortable the way I am- but at the same time I know that I would be happier at 145.
And also- how can I get myself motivated again to lose weight?
I have lost weigh twice before and went down to 145.
Please help.
Thanks!

hey that sounds like a pretty decent weight for your height actually. but if you would be happier losing 15 lbs i say go for it as long as you are being healthy about it. dont starve yourself or over-exercise. try some fun aerobics with friends that you wont get bored doing. they can help motivate you. or get a hot personal trainer lol as for food, eat plenty of fruits and veggies, drink lots of water and fat free or skim milk and eat reasonable portions. try baked instead of fried. good luck :)

don't think of it as dieting. Get rid of the junk food. Quit going to fast food restaurants on the way home from work. Go to the gym every once in a while. Don't give up on yourself. Go to a grocery store and buy fruits, vegetables, lowfat yogurt and bread. Peanut butter also helps you lose weight even though it has oil in it, but it's the healthy peanut oil. Don't chew gum while you work out. You're not burning calories, you're gaining them. Try to stay away from the sodas and drink fruit juices and stuff like Welches' and V8. Work out as often as possible, and never give up. you WILL start to see the difference really soon if you try it. Please do it, you'll feel much better about yourself at 145.

Most of your weight could be muscle, since you said you don't look like 60 lb.

the best thing I have found in losing weight is to not cut yourself totally off from foods you love. if you can't eat food that tastes good, you won't stick with it. I've lost nearly 20 pounds by simply cutting back on fried foods and desserts. Choose low fat options. you'd be surprised how much fat condiments, sour cream, and dressings have in them, so if you get fat free/reduced fat versions, that alone with cut down on your calories--and I've found that most of them taste just as good (for instance, some fat free ranch is watered down and bitter--that's disgusting--but some is just as thick and tasty as regular--so shop around--I actually prefer the store brand). Also, limit your softdrinks. I somehow drink water now and love it, though I used to think it was so gross haha--but that will DEFINITELY help! :)

**One key thing for motivation though, it'd be great if you had a friend that wants to lose weight also. The way I lost 20 lbs was this:
My cousin was getting married and wanted to lose weight. So we made a deal that everything I ate dessert (unless it was low fat/reduced fat, or a somewhat healthy option like a fruit & yogurt parfait from McDonald's [like I said, don't completely cut yourself off from things you love or you won't do it :) !]) or fried foods, I would have to pay her for each bite I took (and she would do the same for me). We did 50 cents per bite, but my sister and I are now doing 25 cents. So, you can still have that cupcake, but it'll cost you (I got good at cramming food in my mouth--so be careful with that ;) haha) ... it's good for accountability. It's like, as good as that piece of fried chicken would be, is it worth paying $2 to eat it? no-- go with grilled instead, and save money! I know it may sound rough, but it was SO helpful, because it causes you to use moderation, which is really the key to weight loss (and life!) anyway.

Oh yeah, we allowed ourselves one day a week where we could eat without having to pay, but that's it. Also be nice to yourself at birthdays and stuff. :) Eventually, I would find myself still eating healthy for the most part on my "day off" because I liked the taste and felt better inside :) (rather than heavy and greasy and just blah after eating too much grease)

I know that is a long answer with many parentheses, but it is a REAL answer, and I hope it helps! :)
