Help on Losing weight.10 POIINTS :)?!

Question: Ok .well i've been told losing 1-2 pounds a week is prettty good.
and i want to know how i can acheive that, cause all i really want to loose is ten pounds.

i do abs and arm and leg workouts every other day and sometimes day after day, i am starting a diet of eating only 1150 calories a day, since im only 15, ( i weight 58 pounds and my doctor said it would be ok if i lost 10 pounds)
and i just want to know that willl not running slow me down on my weight crisis?
cause it's cold outside and i can't run for long periods of time cause i have a brutal heart and lungs

so what im starting with pushups/sit ups, lifting weights, and eating as healthy as possible ( no chocolate/candies, pop or other junky foods). Will this help me to achieve my goal?

well i am trying to lose weight too, i started out at 155 and now i am 125 and i am 15 years old, about 5'5". in order to lose weight you need to burn more calories a day than you are taking in, so i would suggest exercising every day. when you exercise, make sure you are focusing on each major body group and if you want to tone up a certain spot of your body, say your abs, google some good exercises for that. also, jogging is very good just to burn calories but it is understandable if you cannot in the cold weather, just try to get more exercise doing little things, like taking the long way to your school instead of the short way (if you walk). keep in mind that fast walking is almost as beneficial as jogging, just not as intense. it also helps to join a school sport, like track or cross country in the spring, the coach will keep you on track with exercise. also, be conscious of how many calories you are taking in. maybe cut your caloric intake to 1,000 a day. it helps a lot if you eat salad and veggies, plus lots of fruit which fill you up, are good for you, and have a very small amount of calories. also, pickles have no calories. if you are craving something sweet, i suggest having a sweet-flavored sugar free gum on hand, which tastes sweet but only has about 5 calories. also, it is OK to have something sweet every once in a while, like maybe a cookie every two weeks, as long as your caloric intake is down, because i have found by personal experience that if you completely deprive yourself of sweets for too long, you will end up going crazy for them and spending an entire night eating. you can eat some sweets as long as all is done in moderation. hope this helps :)

i hope you mean you way 158 lbs, not 58 lbs??
Yes, this will help you achieve your goal, but dont expect to lose 1-2 lbs the first week, it will take some time. Also it is important to eat healthy, but also balanced. If all you eat is apples and carrots, you may lose weight quickly, but you'll gain it back faster and wont be getting all the vitamins/nutrients you need
Good Luck!

what you're doing is excellent.
you shouldn't underestimate the importance of cardio health in losing weight though - running is only one form. if you can't run for long distances (most people cant), just try walking. you can walk as much as u want in a day - but if you have a pedometer, try and start a target of 10 000 steps (it does seem very high, but its far from unattainable - if you cant reach that in day, it's ok, just give yourself as much time as you need to get there)
- in time, as your heart and lungs improve, you will be able to start running for short periods.
walking and running (along with swimming) are excellent cardio-vascular exercises, and excellent ways to lose weight; so long as you're not puffing violently, you're burning fat, and they then raise the body's metabolism to burn fat throughout the entire day too.

I'm not a personal trainer however I run a gym so I think I'm qualified to answer this question. As the other answer stated, I hope that is "158" not "58" or else you are in an unsafe range for weight-loss. Cardiovascular work will be the best for you if you are focused on weight-loss. If you cannot get into a gym to use a bike/treadmill/elliptical/rower and since the weather is too cold for outdoor work, then you would want to focus on basic exercises that provide a high-intensity workout. This would include simple exercises like jumping-jacks, squat-jumps, and "mountain-climbers." You should focus on a high-intensity workout with very little resting time and high repetitions. With your current workout (assuming its total body each time) could be made more effective by turning it into a circuit-training workout (one set of each exercise and then repeating). Also, place an emphasis on legs. People generally overlook this part of the workout, however these are larger muscles, so using them [harder] burns more calories.
