Question: I am starting my mock GCSE's tomorrow and I want to know what the best thing to eat for breakfast is to help concentration and energy throughout the day. Also, what should I avoid eating?

Thanks!

Eat a vegetable omelette, sausages (veggie or real), whole-wheat toast, and an apple. Drink orange juice or milk. Drink tea as well, depending on if you need caffiene--you don't want a headache, but you don't want to be bouncing off the walls, either, which is why you should avoid coffee.

chicken, eggs, cheese toast, orange juice, fruit
avoid pop tarts, sugarry cereals, french toast with syrup.

Antioxidants....like blueberries (great for the memory) and dark green salads.... but what really helped me was the download about exam success...I used it 2 days before my GRE...and listening to this 15 minute recording 5 times...and I swear it worked. I ordered it from independentachievement.com

RED BULL because they help you focus alot!!

something high in sugar, but don't change your breakfast habits suddenly ..

Just don't drink too much liquid or you will have to pee all day. Kidding aside. I would stick with high protein things for energy. Things like meat, eggs, peanut butter. Just don't eat too much or it will make you sleepy. Good luck.

Maybe a vegetable omlette, you are looking for high protien, vitamins and moderate fat. What you need to avoid is sugar and caffine, which will burn you out very quickly, and put your mind in other places. Good Luck!

Eat fish for dinner! I don't like it personally, but it is good for your brain cells. Also, leading up to your actual exams, take an omega 3 fish oil capsule every night (you can get them for pharmacies) to also help boost brain power :) For breakfast eat porrige, with fruit and yoghurt, and drink a large glass of fresh orange juice you will feel wide awake then. Make sure you aren't hungry! Theres nothing worse than having your stomach rumble in a quite place where everyone can hear! Plus it'll put you off your exam! Eat healthily and you'll be fine good luck in your mocks

bananas, they release energy throughout the day as well as cereal like porridge! avoid anything coke or chocolate coz they are so high in sugar that you'll have a mini-high but feel worse than you did half an hour ago!! basically avoid sh*it food! good luck

Foods that are high in carbohydrates are great for giving you the energy to go through the day. DO NOT DRINK REDBULL or any sort of high sugar or energy drink, they may keep you focused for the moment, but after the effect wears off, you will be drained and burned out, and you DO NOT want that. Foods that contian high carbs are waffles, oatmeal, bagels, Total cereal, Gatorade. Drink plently of water to stay hydrated, and good luck.
