SHould I take today off, or run?!

Question: I've been lifting light weights and running at least 3 miltes on my treadmill for the past 5 days in a row. I'm really determined to lose weight and have been eating healthy. Should I run today or give myself a rest?

its always best just to exercise for 5 days and take two days off. You don't have to do 5 days straight like exercise for 2 days take a day off exercise 3 and then take another day off. I you over work your body it can't heal its self this can lead to injury. If you really want to lose weight don't over exercise. losing weight should be a slow healthy process don't rush things just be optimistic and you will eventually reach your goal weight.

If you feel like crap today than just rest, but if you are just being lazy than snap out of it and get to running.

There is a test to tell you.

Take your pulse when you first wake up, before you get out of bed. Do this for ten days and write it down each day. On day 10, add them all up and divide by ten to get an average pulse rate.

After this, take your pulse when you wake up. If it's elevated more than 5 beats per minute over your average, take that day off from exercise. It's your body's sign that you haven't healed from your last session.

Best of luck.
