Do obese people lose weight more rapidly than thinner people?!

Question: I see these shows like the biggest loser and the people weigh like 300 lbs and they lose 25 lbs in a week. And i've been working out for a few months to lose 20. Do really fat people lose the extra weigh faster than people like me who are a bit overweight

Part of the reason they have dramatic weight loss at first is because they're losing a lot of fluid. When you have 100 lbs of fat to lose and you start exercising/cutting calories, your body sheds fluids rapidly at first, and then it levels off.

People who are overweight lose it faster because they have so much of it.. if you are skinny it takes alot longer because you dont have alot of fat.. so getting toned will be tougher... even when overweight ppl get skinny its hard for them to get the last few pounds off

I've wondered about that too, because I've never heard of anyone losing that much weight at once. There may be more water weight to lose initially, and yes, heavier people more calories doing the same amount of exercise, but the amounts on that show sound dangerous and excessive to me.

They lose more and oftener.
