How to get big quads?!


Question: I want to have big quadriceps, what exercises could i do to build quad muscles and also tighten the butt? Should i lift heavy for it, or light? Thanks

heavy 3X4-6 with a max at the end

squat (front and back and overhead) be careful!

do lots of running, sprinting, and espically sprinting uphill.

lunges work the best for me and extending the back leg before stepping forward works the glutes. do it with weights if you can.

The absolute must exercise for quads is the squat. You should start with very light weight and develop impeccable form. Too many lifters go heavy too quick. When you get into heavy weight, you can really hurt yourself if you don't use the correct form.

The basic squat is performed with the bar behind your neck. You can also do a variation called a front squat where the bar rests across your shoulders in front of the neck.

I also like performing stationary, single-leg lunges for the quad. Use moderate weight and focus on strict form. The lunge also hits the glutes.
