I reviewed my meal&excersise regime. Is this a healthy plan now?!

I think that is better than the 1300kCal I was eating before.

How much should I burn in order to lose 40lbs?

Your kcal intake is too high and you should instead be having 6 small meals a day, this makes the metabolism speed up, which means quicker a digestion.

You should be having six small meals each 300kcal = 1800kcal.

60 Minutes a day of Cardio should be fine. Do loose the weight

my daughter is also 13 and a little over weight. She should lose about 20 pounds. I never recommend her to "diet". All you need to do is eat healthy and get more exercise and you will lose the weight. If it doesnt seem to help, try going for walks a couple times a week and get involved in sports. Drink alot of water and eat more fruits and veges. You shouldnt have to count calories at 13. And remember it is not healthy to lose more than a pound or two each week. Good luck!

Sweetie at your age...you should be able to eat just about anything...so long as you are active. Your metobalism is at its best right now. Here is what i reccomed....from someone who has battled the scale all her life:

don't drink soda
drink lots of water (even put those crsytal light pack in for a change of taste)
No white breads or white flour items
Limit your fast food...if you must...to once a month
buy sugar free cookies, candy, ice cream etc (they aren't bad...and i love sweets)
DO NOT SKIP meals
Have two snacks....healthy snacks inbetween meals so you don't pig out at meal time!

And...the more active you are...the more calories you should consume. Good luck!!!

cut down to 1500 cals per day & do cardio exercise like dancing, swimming or running to burn fat.
