How do I use Weight Watchers points plan ?!

Question: I do not understand weight watchers for some reason. I am allowed 22 points each day. But I lose balance in eating when I think about how many points I have. I dont even consider fruits and veggies because they are hard to calculate when they are not in packages. All I think about are the prepacked foods like the little cupcakes or the smart ones dinner. By the time I eat those things Im like... how do I add in my veggies, fruit, and dairy in balance and without going over my points. I do not know how to balance my foods in the points plan and I dont like the core plan because I like sweets and variety. The counselors have tried to explain but I still dont see how I can easily incorporate veggies, fruits and such in balance without going over points.

you may need to start planning in advance.....
what i do is take a notebook and taking my beginning balance for the day i just subtract for each item as i eat...
most of you fruits are 1-2 points each, lowfat milk is 2 pts per cup and so on.....
so maybe if you know you want so many servings a day of each item you could calculate it first...
say...
2 servings of dairy would be 4 pts
each fruit would be 1-2 pts..so this would be 3 if you choose lower pt items
most frozen dinners are around 5-6 pts each
.............
if you have the weight watchers books i would go thru and find some of the lower point and even no point items that you like to eat so you can get more thru out the day.....
.......................
also...ck out www.sparkpeople.com and get in on some of the message boards as these people are doing this everyday and can help you with menu planning and such...

take care and keep at it....it will come together.....

When you signed up for Weight Watchers, they should have given you a little booklet that includes the point values for fruits, vegetables, dairy, and the like. Consult that for your answer... or, you can go to www.calorieking.com and type in whatever food you want to know the calorie/fat/fiber content for, and calculate the points yourself. :)
