Which way is better... cardio bad?!

Question: I was reading a rather conventional fitness manual last night, the manual said that while continueous cardio exercise is the most efficent way of burning fat, full body lifting is a much more effective way.

the book claimed that while cardio speeds up your metabolic rate during and for 1-2hours afterward, lifting your whole body with snatches, deadlifts, squats etc.. followed by a short anaerobic cardio session will raise your RMR for 1-2days afterwards because of the repairs needed to be done to your body. Therefore you can keep burning fat between workouts, making it a much more effective way of dropping bodyfat %.

It doesn't seem to add up to me, how could that beat an hour on the treadmill?

Can anyone knowledgeable on this give me a better explination?
thanks!

Ok. One should first do their lifting and then do their cardio. That will maximize the fat loss, especially for the first 15 mins.

Lifting will also help you build more muscle, and muscle will burn more calories as it does any kind of work, even just sitting there.

So long term, it is very important to do both.

running on the treadmill isn't the same as running on the street.
you force youself more on the street....therefore you burn more calories.......also you need a good nutrition..........try to do resistance workouts......and some wheightlifting
