I think you mean muscle groups instead of individual muscles. Exercises require groups of muscles to work together. Okay, so you knew that already.

It sounds like you have enough gym time to make sure all muscle groups are covered. If I were to go six days per week I'd do 1)quads and hamstrings 2) biceps and triceps 3) shoulders and upper back 4) abs, obliques 5) chest and traps 6) glutes and lower back.

Don't forget to devote two days a week to do some serious stretching exercises. If you don't beleive that flexibility is important talk with some old veterans at the gym, the men that are in their forties, if they've been lifting hard most their lives they will tell you that they are definitely paying the price of lifting heavy without stretching. You can't be strong if you're not flexible, lifting weights tightens muscles, bunching them and ligaments up tight, which makes you more prone to injury.

sure...got to start slow.

Well, there are 600 muscles in the human body so it will take almost 2 years to work all of them!

divide between upper body one day, lower body and abs another day and cardio on the third day. (rotate as appropriate). With the cardio try to avoid tread machines for the entire session. Introduce stair climbers and cross trainers which also work on your strength and conditioning. Also do the rowing machine which is great for all over conditioning. The muslcles need time to recover. Limit yourself to about an hour per session. Remember to put some effort into nutrition. this will enable you to keep an eye on your calorie intake. good luck

Are you talking about muscle groups?

You should rest and not train with weights everyday. You need to give time to your muscles to rebuild. 6 days of weight lifting a week is pushing it even if you breakup your groups. You might be doing more harm than good. Muscles need time to rebuild.

By doing different muscle groups you break up your workouts and can do more for the week by doing more at each workout. Getting rest for the one's you did is imperative. You have to figure out what's best for your body and which muscle groups to do on what days so that they get rest time between workouts.
