It will reduce the absorbed food value, including the calories, of most of the unsweetened foods you eat. Sugar and corn syrup are too easily digested/absorbed to be blocked by this kind of tactic.

Most of the raw potato will be indigestible fiber, which will absorb fats and be excreted. The apple also has fiber, but it is in there for is the pectin (same stuff that makes jelly set up), which will not only bind carbohydrates, but keep you from being as prone to diarrhea from the indigestible potato. The finer you grind or blend them the better this will work...

Now the probable minor drawbacks to this plan:

Potatoes are from the nightshade family, The skin can be poisonous if green. They use green potatoes to make that biodegradable anti-freeze. PEEL THE POTATOES...
and some people are sensitive to potatoes. If you already eat a lot of potatoes, and do not get headaches, then this use of potatoes will probably not bother you.

From this wad of fiber you will probably get a bellyache, you may have diarrhea (more apple), and you will almost certainly get gas.

When you add things to your gut to bind and absorb other food constituents, you will also be binding the vitamins in those foods... A, D & E in the fats that you are not digesting/absorbing, B vitamins and C in the carbohydrate foods bound by the pectin: take a multivitamin/mineral tablet *between* meals.

You will also lower the absorbtion of protiens, but most of us worrying that without wasting food value we will be fat, are getting more than enough protien that the loss of a little to inefficient digestion will not leave us short.

Inefficient digestion is a health problem of its own. if you would prefer that health problem to the problem of overweight, or the project of limiting your food intake, this is as good a way to do it as any of those expensive fat blockers or cark blockers.

You may find that this diet does not call for enough bile to be excreted, and this causes prablems. You can fit that by drinking grapefruit juice between meals. if you drink it with a meal it will neatly help digest the indigestible wad cutting your calories.

water helps you digest, cleans out your system and makes you feel full. But its not a miracle remedy so dont expect to see results quickly or massive results

no it will not .the starch in the paTATOS ARE BAD YOU CAN'T RELY ON THAT DRINK TO BE HEATHY you need to get heathy drinks. Or just start to eat the right foods and exercises

I'm not liking the idea much myself, i suppose the idea is that it flushes your system, and also the starch makes you less hungry. I would think that you should look to exercise(if your fairly heavy i would actually stay away from the weights, at least for a little while) doing cardio whenever possible. Like i said doing weights later is okay, but for the first while i would use the treadmill, and walk at least 30 minutes if not an hour a day. You will burn more fat calories if you do your walking before your first meal, but just do the treadmill when you can. The reason why i said stay away from the weights for the first while is because when people lift weights it tends to increase their appetite and tire them out, thus making binging more common, and causes people to quit their exercise routines.

That.... sounds horribly unhealthy. You're not getting all the nutrients you need. A balanced and moderate diet is going to be much more helpful. If you really want to change your diet, it doesn't have to be drastic. You can make great changes by simply avoiding anything with "high fructose corn syrup" or "hydrogenated" in the label, since those are some of the worst offenders. There are such things as good fats, sugars, and carbs, and you find those in plant and nut oils, fruits, and multigrain or whole wheat breads.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but what they say is true. If it sounds unhealthy and ridiculous, it probably is.
